Walking out to the lighthouse on the Breakwater is a great way to get your steps in and take in the Pacific Ocean without going out on a boat (if it is windy be prepared to get wet!)

If you have a vehicle, are visting in the summer and want a fun adventure the whole family can enjoy I highly recommend tubing on Lake Cowichan River. What used to be a secret spot that only locals knew about now has a tour company who will provide the tubes as well as transportation so you do not have to walk back to your vehicle.

The float homes are a neat part of Victoria living. You can walk amongst the houses and grab a bite to eat, there is always fresh seafood although I do recommend Red Fish Blue Fish in the inner harbour for fish and chips.

Otherwise known as the Pickle Boats these are a fun experience. They will transport you from various points along the Victoria harbour, the most common being to Fisherman's Wharf as it is quite a walk from downtown.

Popular place to enjoy the sounds and smells of the Pacific Ocean and, if you are lucky, view a whale or two! Whales can often been seen from the land at Esquimalt Lagoon you just have to be there at the right time. What you may see for wildlife is of course seasonally dependent.

Best Fish & Chips in Victoria but there are often lines. Located right downtown off of Wharf street there is lots to see as you wait for your order. (No inside dinning)

Excellent Japanese Tappenyaki experience where the chef cooks right in front of you. Having been to many Tappenyaki restaurants our family prefers the steak sauce at Japanese Village. While they traditionally offer steak sauce for your rice, adding some of the ginger sauce is my favorite way to eat my rice.

In the summer the patio at Belville's is only rivalled by the Patio at the Rooftop Patio at the Strathcona Hotel. Both give a vacation vibe that you might otherwise get in a a tropical country and the food is comparable at both places.

The best patio view in the city. Food is decent pub style food and the bonus is that they also have beach volleyball courts available for rent (reservations recommended).

If you are looking for amazing food and an epic date night this is the place to go. It is a historic tudor style building with a large dinning hall, its like looking back a century. Prices are comparable to the Keg but the food is way better. They have an inhouse Chef who comes up with new and creative menus throughout the year and we have yet to be disappointed.

Excellent for date night, anniversaries, birthdays etc. The views of Victoria from 18 stories up are stunning. They also have a chef who appears to focus on creating fresh new menus using locally sourced ingredients. A bit pricy though so if you are looking for a affordable option check out my other recommendations.
