Just a short 15 min drive down the road this English Heritage attraction is well worth a poke around. We’ve taken our dogs with us on occasion too. They have a tea room that opens seasonally.

This is a fascinating place - National Trust owned. There’s some quite steep terrain to navigate but mostly on paths and well worth the climb if you’re reasonably fit and able.

Situated within the Wyre Forest 20 mins drive away. My family found this good fun - me not so much! I took the dogs and walked and watched!

If you fancy a horse riding lesson or a hack out this place is probably your best bet. They offer a range of options for differing abilities and even a pub ride. Please note - I have never been though so cannot offer a personal recommendation.

Spend an hour wandering around the museum which is free then stop for some lunch at one of the eateries on the banks of the Severn. Bewdley town is also worth having a look round.

Ludlow itself is a beautiful little town and has great markets in the square by the castle. About a 40 minute drive (but a beautiful one). Well worth a half or full day out.

Lots of marked walking, cycling and riding trails. You have to pay for parking but trails start right from the car park. You can let dogs off lead when you’re away from this area. They also have a cafe and a dog wash area for muddy paws.

There are lots of balloon flights offered locally but most appear to be operated by virgin. If you fancy seeing the local area by air have a look online and book one in for your stay. Obviously this will be weather dependent. We frequently have them fly over the property so if the wind is blowing the right direction we can give you a wave!

Our favourite pub just five mins drive up the road. You could walk it but you’ll definitely need a drink by the time you get there - it’s all up hill! Food available most days and it’s dog friendly. You can see the track to the house from the garden across the valley.
