If you haven't seen it in person, you need to. There is an easy trail out from the visitor's center called Bright Angel Point that really captures the grandeur of this place. They have many other trails as well (inquire online or at entrance station). Well worth the 2.5 hour drive from our home for a day trip, and you would be back in time for dinner at Escobar's Mexican restaurant in Kanab.

Well worth the 2.5 hour drive from our home for a day trip, and you would be back in time for dinner at Escobar's Mexican restaurant in Kanab.
A truly amazing reservoir on the Colorado River with several marinas offering boat rentals and boat tours. Wahweap Marina is the closest to our home, about a 2 hour drive from us.
