Traditional, above average Tex- Mex in a nice dining room atmosphere. Their table side scratch guacamole is great. I'm a fish taco fan and theirs is a good version. I've heard their brisket taco (how much more text mex can you get!) is great, too. This place is a 3 minute drive or a 15 minute walk from the house. Use the bikes in the garage and pedal there.

Respectable sushi joint about a 5 minute drive from the house. The dining room is clean and simple and they have seating at the sushi bar. I've only taken my food to go but it's always been great and the servers are on point. The Chef's roll is one of my favorites but very non- traditional cut roll wrapped in thin cucumber instead of seaweed. The salmon sushi and yellow tail are also good.

Great park and marina on the north point of Lake Lewisville for a day picnic, day camping and fishing. Rent kayaks, paddleboards, and power boats. The day pass to get in the park is about 5 bucks and any rentals are separate. I've been a member for a year. There are parks and lake access closer than the 20 minute drive to Hidden Cove but this is a nice combination of complete and it rarely gets so busy you can't get to it. This one's my favorite.
Make rental reservations to be safe, but many times you can walk up and rent what you need.

The day pass to get in the park is about 5 bucks and any rentals are separate. I've been a member for a year. There are parks and lake access closer than the 20 minute drive to Hidden Cove but this is a nice combination of complete and it rarely gets so busy you can't get to it. This one's my favorite.

If you don't already have the AllTrails app on your phone, load it and go. There are scenic spots with picnic tables so pack a lunch if you like.

The Saturday Morning Local Farmer's Market is Cool.
from 8am to noon, this fairly traditional farmer's market features local produce, meat, flowers and lots of baked goods. It's small but cool. Walk to it in 20 minutes or bike to it in 10 using the two bikes in the garage.
