The very best ice cream around! Also in Greenodd next to the Bakehouse. Both places are a great pit stop on the way to the Lakes or Coniston.

A fine example of real butchers, still using local cattle and sheep, these guys really know what they’re doing. Apart from great advice, they do a mean selection of excellent pies at lunch time too.

Lovely place to visit, just down the coast road a few minutes drive from Ulverston. Also walkable along the beach! There’s a lovely woods to wander around that leads to the beach, plus a vegetarian cafe on the grounds serving tea, coffee and very nice cakes.

A flat walk along Ulverston canal leads you to a great view point of the estuary. There’s a place to grab a sneaky pint or refreshment also, it’s called the Bay Horse.

Although this pub is part of Robinson’s brewery, the owners Chris and Jo have really managed to retain an independent style and character. Great place for live music and jazz on a Thursday night.
