Grocery Store in Iquitos

A good place to get groceries before coming to the lodge, especially if you plan to make your own food during your stay at the lodge. The convenience store has some basic items such as eggs, pasta, tomatoes, carrots, apples, oranges, plantains, but not a lot of variety of food.

The lodge is located in a village called Santa Maria. You can get there by taking a commuter boat from Nanay port in Iquitos and Santa Maria is the last stop. The ride usually costs 5 soles. You can get to the port from Iquitos airport, usually costs 15 soles, and from Iquitos city center, usually costs 5 soles. The last boat from Nanay port leaves at around 3pm, so the safest thing to do is to get there before 2pm. Useful information about staying in Selva Vida

There are two convenience shops just down the hill from the lodge, the items you can buy are limited, especially when it comes to food. If you plan to make your own food at the lodge, you might want to get some food items from Iquitos, from Los Portales, a grocery store in the city center. Since the lodge is in the jungle, there are mosquitos and other jungle animals such as cockroaches, frogs, and rats. We do our best to keep them away but it's not a guarantee. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Please bring mosquito sprays and some long pants & shirts.
