Beautiful place to hike solo or with families. Our kids love the Beaver Creek trail and can spend the day there but there are also some great challenging hikes. Not the best with maps so if you luck out and find a ranger, quiz them for info!

Seek out Ernie's Station (a restored 1917 gas station) near the bike trail. If you can't find it, ask a local! Ernie is a relative of ours. Aroma Pie Shoppe, a playground, and Green Gators Mini Golf. Its a small town with lots of character!

Peterson also has bikes to borrow. There is a state fish hatchery nearby and a hiking trail called Indian Trail. The Root River trail segment heading toward Rushford is peaceful, woodsy, and partly riverside.
