Do Rite donuts and Mindy's bagels are brought in fresh from Chicago on the weekends, and their bagel sandwiches, home made smear and ice coffees are perfect after a bike ride to the lake. Super casual, good for kids.

Farina's Supper Club (originally known as Duneland Beach Inn) is newly re-opened as of Memorial Day, so they're the new supper club on the block! Boasting great Italian food in family style portions (we love the calamari and oysters), the outdoor patio is an adorable oasis set to the tunes of Sinatra. Arrive when they open at 4pm to get settled at an outdoor table - you'll avoid the crowds (and slower service:)

If you love a good IPA, Juice Puns is our fave, but also the 14 Buck Chuck Citra and Kreamed Corn makes us the happiest:) Grab some mixed cans to go and rock on the back porch to Tom Petty on vinyl - a good lil’ afternoon in the woods!

Stop 28 along Long Beach is our go-to beach stop close to the house, which allows public access and a little alcove for privacy! The caveat here is parking is not allowed along the lake, so best to drop everyone off via car and have your most enthusiastic walker drop the car back at the house and walk! If it’s too much trouble, New Buffalo beach is a public access beach with a paid parking lot right in front:)

Some of our most favorite pieces in our home are from this spot - supporting local artists, this place is full of gorgeous homemade things - from stained glass, to poured candles, felted artwork, furniture pieces…the list goes on and on.
