If you're looking for a scenic drive and a place to escape hot, summer temps... Mt. Lemmon is the place! About an hour's drive up Catalina Highway, there are evergreen trees and cooler temperatures in summer and in winter, maybe a little snow and skiing (not Colorado skiing, mind you). There are a few shops and restaurants up at the top as well as some hiking trails. A really nice place to visit and spend some of your dollars in great little local shops.
