City/town information

Wells is a pretty Somerset town with an amazing Cathedral! definitely worth a snoop around. And the Bishop's Palace too.... unexpected in this little town. Wells market on Weds and Sat is really good with fine food and other cool stuff - and is jus in front of the Palace, with lots of little cafes around. If you like organic food I recommend The Good Earth cafe and shop just down the road from the marketplace. And it has a really sweet cinema. Wells is famous for its cultural and arts festivals so well worth checking the internet for whats on this week.

Glastonbury has its own reputation - and of course an awesome festival. If you are after the cultural heart of Glasto head for the High Street - you will not be disappointed! But worth checking out the Abbey too - beautiful gardens.

Street is a little bit south of Glastonbury - and is most famous for the outlet centre Clarks Village. If High Street shopping at reduced rates is what you are after - this is the place for you!

Sightseeing

This is one of the reasons for coming to this area - truly beautiful countryside for walking and other things: running, cycling, dog walks, etc. It does get busy in summer, so recommend early starts - lots of walks ..... worth checking out the AllTrails app for ideas.

A bit closer than Cheddar and less busy - our very own local Gorge. Very pretty and great views if you make it to the top! If you wander over to Deerleap too - you can see Glastonbury Tor .... on a clear day!
