Sure, you could walk to Sightglass or Four Barrel, but I think this is the best (and closest!) coffee around. This little gem is just around the corner on San Carlos and 18th.

Busy and scene-y, this place used to be a pop-up on the corner, but now it has its own space on 18th just across Mission. Best eggs of any ramen I've had in the city, and the staff is super friendly.

A Mission institution, this Italian restaurant is delicious and the staff is delightful. Also try Delfina Pizzeria next door, but for a great meal, start here. Walk-ins for the counter and bar are always welcome. Just arrive early and have the wine flight!

It's in all the guidebooks, and for good reason: Tartine Bakery's wares are divine. Go early on a weekday and don't be daunted by the line. It moves quickly as soon as soon as the doors open. Get the morning bun or the ham croissant. Mmmmm…

The churchyard is beautiful…and famous! It's in a scene from Hitchcock's Vertigo. Jimmy Stewart stalks Kim Novak as she visits the (fictional) grave of Carlotta Valdez.
