This typical restaurant (grotto) is at 1 minute walk from our Ca' dal Nono. Delicious barbacued meet, risotto, gnocchi, etc.!
It has a beautiful outdoor terrace with stone table, a sheltered area (still outside), should it rain, and a cosy indoo for earyl spring and late autumn time. Also local people come here because food is typical and usually very good.

This eco-restaurant and hotel is at 3-4 min. walk from our Ca' dal Nono. There you find very healty food, nicely cooked, home-made ice-cream and also (take away) pizzas (although for pizza in Vallemaggia I recommend Pizzeria Bellavista in Gordevio).
Quite outdoor, playground for children, the owner Marco Kaelin is very nice.

This eco-restaurant and hotel is at 3-4 min. walk from our Ca' dal Nono. There you find very healty food, nicely cooked, home-made ice-cream and also (take away) pizzas (although for pizza in Vallemaggia I recommend Pizzeria Bellavista in Gordevio).

Here you get one of the best "risotto" in the area, in an elegant old villa with an easy-going outdoor with stone tables and works of art (sculptures by Steff Luethi). Prices are a little higher than elsewhere but the risotto and beef are quite unforgettable.

Pizzas in this pizzeria (actually a camping place) are well known in the area. The outdoor itself is not particularly nice but these south-Italian made pizzas are very good. Waiting time can be long at peak times (summer).

They told me that food is good here (home-made hamburgers, but not only) and that people are nice. Charming outdoor even thought it is on the road (a the entrance of Vallemaggia and also Centovalli). Ideal for young people, for lunch or a beer after having been at the riverside. Bikers are welcome.

La Froda, just beside the "famous" Foroglio waterfall, is idea for very hot days. So ideal, that you should always bring a light jacket or jumper because the air that comes down from the valleys makes it a cool place, especially in the evening. Good food, no electricity there as in the entire Valle Bavona. This makes it a special place. The owners have cultural interests (publishing house, literature, etc. )

La Froda
6690 ForoglioLa Froda, just beside the "famous" Foroglio waterfall, is idea for very hot days. So ideal, that you should always bring a light jacket or jumper because the air that comes down from the valleys makes it a cool place, especially in the evening. Good food, no electricity there as in the entire Valle Bavona. This makes it a special place. The owners have cultural interests (publishing house, literature, etc. )

Valle Bavona is such a beautiful while still wild valley. There you 'll notice big round rocks ("ballonitt") that in the past were used as vegetable gardens, sown by the poor people of the valley.
