Butcher & Sons makes terrific burgers, and it couldn't be closer to the apartment. Named after famous rock stars, my personal favorites are the Hendrix and the Barrett. The pork buns are pretty damn good as well.

Lively and frequently packed, it has a wide selection of various sandwiches and salads during the weekdays, and during the weekends it offers also a decent brunch as well. We love the Chicken Curry Sandwich, the London Broil, the French Dip, the Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich, the Grilled Cheese and the Gravlax Eggs Benedict.

A little too popular for our taste, Cicatriz is nonetheless a great spot to start or finish the day. They have changing menu with good options for both breakfast and dinner. We like the avocado toast and the chicken sandwich. Later in the evening they also have a very respectable cocktail bar.
