If you are an outdoor fanatic, the locals call this man made lake "Sly Park Lake". It has hiking trails, fishing, boating, and paddle boat capabilities. You can hike to the back and find this gorgeous waterfall. You can walk in for free, parking has a fee and bringing in a boat has a fee. I have brought groups of kids with no issues. open year round. I have driven in with my paddle board, we have kayaked it. Locals compete over the fish sizes. Known to be stocked seasonally with trout, bass, and pollock. ;)

This is another lake in pollock Pines, a bit off the beaten path. I have heard it is a good spot with less people than Sly Park lake. Great for fishing or relaxing on shore.

This is a great place for all ages. They have upgraded their amenities to include bowling, glow mini golf, laser tag, pool, arcade, full bar, with some food. Some days have $2 beer. Thursdays have unlimited activities for $20 per person.

This place is a good spot if you're in the mood for a burger or sandwich. The service is very slow, they even remark it on their menu. I would recommend calling your order in and picking it up. They do offer stuffed burgers that are good.

Your next closest town for excellent food choices is Placerville or Tahoe.
