If you have never heard of Saburos and you love sushi, I would highly recommend making a trip here during your stay. They do have longer waits after they open so I would suggest checking on the wait time through Yelp and also getting on their wait-list before you head over there. Come hungry, but don't let your stomach fool you! The portion sizes are generously big, and most of the time everyone orders more than they can eat. But one thing to note is that they will only allow you to order once, so if you think you'll want to eat more sushi later that day then you do want to order more!

I would highly recommend coming to Papa Haydn for their desserts! They have a location on NW 23rd Avenue but it can get pretty busy for larger groups. If you are a table of up to 4 though, you shouldn't expect that long of a wait. My favorite dessert from Papa Haydn is the Boccone Dolce!

Come any time of day, and you'll fall in love with the atmosphere set up by 23rd Ave! Lined with a mix of local and chain shops, restaurant and bars - you have a lot to see. Some of my favorite restaurants on 23rd are Grassa and The Matador. If you're just wanting a small bite or dessert, Papa Haydn is the place to go! Otherwise, I would highly recommend Tea Chai Te for a cup of warm Chai or bubble tea depending on your mood. Let's face it, it rains in Oregon. A lot. Most days, the rain won't stop anyone from going about their outdoor plans and activities, but I completely understand if you're looking for something a little more indoors. In that case, come visit Washington Square mall if you are looking to do some shopping during your stay! Also let's remember, there's no sales tax here!

The magic of a meal at Sweedeedee cannot be overstated; every plate is arranged with care and finished with beautiful rustic touches, from the small violet flower petals sprinkled on a chilled leek soup to the flaked sea salt dusting the fresh green side salad that accompanies almost every dish. Breakfast is most popular (and the hype well-deserved), but lunch is a relaxed and luxurious affair. In the evenings, the breakfast shop becomes Sardine Head, a destination for natural wine — it’s worth a visit for hard-to-find glass pours and small snacks.

This sophisticated, lush restaurant recently switched up its schtick, with its new globe-trotting chef Ryley Eckersley. The restaurant remains a favorite for seasonal, produce-driven dishes, but its real highlights incorporate smoke or seafood in creative ways. A prime example is its a Dungeness crab congee with yellowfoot mushroom, trout roe, and hazelnut consommé — a thoroughly Pacific Northwestern dish.
