The view from up table mountain is amazing! You have to see it for yourself to understand such beauty.
You can hike up table mountain or take a cable car. The hike is quite long so if you are not a hiking type, rather not. If you would like to hike, try and hike very early in the morning or towards the evening. It can get very hot and uncomfortable to hike in the day in summer.
The cable car rides and access to the mountain is weather dependent. When it is windy and heavily raining, the chances that access is closed is high.

This is beautiful to experience and see and is close to Cape Agulhas (Southern tip of the African continent). Going to Cape Agulhas, you might as well go up to Cape Point. There is a national park there as well so you can opt in for that as well while you are at it. It is quite a long trip from the WestCoast (my place) to Simon's Town. You might want to leave early and make a day of it. There is lots to do there. Boulders Penguin is also on way back.

Booking upfront is a good idea so you can decide on a great seat for you or your family. There's a separate bar as well with comfy chairs if you would like to just get your drinking on
