A legend from Launceston's first settlement, it is steeped in History. There is dual Vehicle Access and Parking, either side of the Basin. Picnic areas, children's playground, all ages swimming pool, cafes, One of our Best Restaurants, the Suspension Bridge, Chairlift and beautifull grounds, with wildlife, to explore. Make it a simple visit or explore more. The following Walking Map can also be done by car as there is ample parking at each point along the way. Any point on the map can be visited individually. If you enjoy walking and wish to fully experience Launceston, I recommend a full day from City Park, through the CBD; Launceston's Shopping and Dining Centre with many historic shop fronts, to the Seaport Restaurants, along the Tamar River Boardwalk, the Penny Royal, walk through the Gorge to The Basin, across the Suspension Bridge, finishing at the Historic Duck Reach Power Station. The entire route is accessible and considerate for prams and wheelchairs, except the Duck Reach track.
