Mudslinger's Drive-Thru Coffee - This is the little coffee hut you'll pass going in and out of the neighborhood. I am a die-hard coffee drinking dark roast girl and can vouch for their great coffee. Whether you like an Americano or something a more complicated, you can't go wrong. Their signature Mudslinger coffee drink is amazing. They also offer fruit drinks and a limited menu.

Hiwan Homestead Museum - If you like tours of historic homes, this is a great place to visit. The tours of the home are free and you learn quite a bit about the area and the family who settled there. There are also several outbuildings and a short trail on the property. Check their website for hours and special programs.

Echo Mountain is family run and a great place for beginning skiers. They also have tubing. If you have young children, I highly recommend this as an introduction to winter sports. Their cafe has panoramic views and is the perfect place for a break.
