Long Point is an absolute gem on the shores of the crystal clear Lake Erie. It is a sand spit and medium-sized hamlet on the north shore and is about 40 kilometres long and a kilometre across at its widest point.
Knows for its ecological importance, in 1982, Long Point National Wildlife Area was recognized as a wetland of international significance under the Ramsar Convention. In 1986 Long Point Biosphere Reserve has been designated as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and as a globally significant Important Bird Area by Bird Life International.
The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources classifies Long Point as a Macrosite, an area that contains numerous ecological or geological significant zones, such as Areas of Natural and Scientific Interest.
The stunning Long Point Provincial Park is right on the edge of the peninsula and has beautiful day and over night camping grounds, public beaches, canoeing & hiking trails and bbq areas.
The vibe of Long Point is very quaint, relaxing, serene and at if you're a nature lover, there is no better place to be- a bird sanctuary, a fisher's paradise, a hiker's dream and a boater's freedom!

The mountain biking in and around Turkey Point is some of the best trail riding in Ontario. There is over 50km of single track trail that includes trails along 100′ deep cut ridges adjacent to the World Biosphere Reserve and through both Turkey Point Provincial Park and St. Williams Conservation Reserve as well as adjacent lands including a meandering trail through the award-winning Burning Kiln Winery and it’s vineyards.
Wilderness Mushroom Foray:
Join Naturalist Robin Tapley, and the Blue Elephant’s Executive Chef Heather Pond on the annual wilderness and culinary adventure of mushroom hunting, wine pairing, and culinary delights from the diverse regions of the Carolinian forests.

Honey Bee Apiary Tours:
Put on a Beekeeping suit and come check out the Eco Bees with Vanessa! In this program, we will head over to the apiary to have an up-close look at the hives. Participants will be introduced to the world of honey bees and what it’s like to be a beekeeper. Guests will learn the inner workings of the beehive and how every bee has an important role to keep the colony thriving. And of course, there will also be honey tasting! Guests get to try a variety of honey and other by-products of the hive!

The huts are equipped with benches, 6 pre-drilled holes, hooks for your outerwear and a propane bbq/stove combo so you can warm up your lunch. The daily rate includes your ride to and from the hut from the ice access, as well as your live bait for the day, and a parking pass. You can check-in at R&R Outdoors, 136 Erie Blvd anytime after 7am. Guide starts taking groups out at 7:30am. Last hut is off at 4:30pm.

Fishing, hiking, picnicking and a variety of special events are favourite activities of both campers and day visitors. The mill pond is stocked with rainbow trout, providing a great spot to teach youngsters how to fish. Children ages 16 years and under can take part in the annual Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Derby on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Registration starts at 8am beside the Mill Pond.
The park offers 160 campsites spread over five campground areas. Sites range from tenting sites to 98 sites with electrical service and two rustic camping cabins.
The Conservation Education Centre at Backus is an interpretive centre where visitors can learn about the plants, birds and animals common to the Long Point Region watershed. Browse exhibits that highlight the region's rich natural history and water fowling traditions or take part in one of the many guided nature hikes and programs scheduled throughout the year.
