A. Sandy Beach - this is where the big fancy resorts are. The beach is beautiful here. B. Cholla Bay - this is mostly houses and is about 20-30 minutes from downtown C. El Mirador Beach - this is an older part of RP. The beach is great but has more shells in it (not as soft). Plus when the tide goes out there are more rocks. Least expensive place to stay. D. Las Conchas - this is a "housing community". But there are lots & lots of houses for rent and even condos on the beach for rent. There are 4-5 "rows" of housing. The farther back off the beach the less expensive the rent (unless it's a huge mansion). This beach is similar to Sandy Beach. The entrance is about 5-10 minutes from downtown (Old Port). E. Playa Encanto - this is about 10 km East of RP. It's East of Las Conchas. Same type of place as Las Conchas. F. The El Malecon or Old Port. This is the fish market. Lots of restaurants & bars. G. Mayan Palace. this is further out past Playa Encanto - about 40-50 minutes from RP. Supposed to be beautiful - but you really aren't in rocky point, you are 30 minutes past Rocky Point.
