DURHAM My go to big box coffee shop and office away from the office. It’s a bit of a walk, but my neighbors and I do it routinely. Just not in the rain. 5 min. drive.

DURHAM I can’t say it better than their website: “Foster’s Market is a gourmet food market and cafe, focusing on scratch made soups, salads, casseroles, sandwiches and more. Everything is made in house, we even roast the turkey for our sandwiches. It is nearly impossible to describe Foster’s with one set definition. We are a restaurant, coffee bar, specialty food store and catering company. We also make gift baskets and sell products on our online store. It seems a bit crazy, but it is really the combination of all these that makes Foster’s a success” 5 min. drive. Coffee/Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Shopping

DURHAM The Streets at Southpoint is a regional shopping mall anchored by Nordstrom, Belk, Macy’s, Sears and JCPenny and home to an Apple Store, California Pizza Kitchen, Hollister, Pottery Barn, Gap and many other big boxes; The mall features a Main Street feel with an outdoor walking street lined with small shops and restaurants and anchored by the AMC movie megaplex, Southpoint Cinemas. While I’m not a shopping or mall person, Southpoint is worth visiting. The street is lined with statues and there’s often live entertainers, and there’s movies and indoor spaces for rainy days.
