Everyone hears about the Newport Coast. There's a reason. It's a gorgeous drive with lots of things to see and do along the way. Crystal Cove is amazing. There is a famous restaurant there that you have to take a trolley to get to, but it's worth it. You park across the street and the trolley picks you up. Then walk along the sands and look at historic homes.

Like whale watching? Go to the Dana Point Harbor and sign up for a whale-watching trip. Check Groupon because they have a lot of deals. You can also rent jet skis and take a trip to Catalina from here. So much to do and see you could stay busy for days!

This is a state park and well worth the few dollars it costs to park inside. This is the beach that is a 2-minute car drive away from the property. You don't have to drive, of course. You can always hike or ride a bike! Very peaceful and expansive.

In the summer in Laguna is hosted a FANTASTIC art walk and Museum of the Arts where they put on a LIVE show where actors dress in costume and pose to the backdrop of masterpieces. The end result is that your eye cannot tell that these are live actors. It is amazing and well worth the price to get in. Theatre of the Masters I think it's called. Plus, there is a Sawdust Festival in the summer for lovers of arts and crafts. If that's not enough, visit the many and varied art galleries and walk through the village of stores.
