The Mauao Summit and Base Track walks are a must for everyone visiting Tauranga. The summit track reaches 232 meters above the sea level and takes about 40 minutes to reach the top. The track can get quite steep in sections, however the stunning views from the summit are well worth the walk. On a clear day you can see as far as White Island and the Coromandel Ranges.
The Mauao base track is an easy 3.5km (45 minute walk) and is a very beautiful scenic walk
