La Petite Cascade is a protected natural site in the English Channel located partly in Neufbourg and Mortain-Bocage. The Cançon cut the Armorican sandstone to form a narrow cluse that it passes through in cascade, in steps about twenty meters high. Just downstream, the Cançon flows into the Cance after bypassing the Rocher de l'Aiguille, a fantastic rock climbing spot.

Perched on its 323 m high rocky spur, it offers a panoramic view across to the doors of the Maine and Brittany region. Mont Saint-Michel can be seen on clear days. Tragic scene of the battle in August 1944 where numerous soldiers lost their lives for our liberty, it has become a place of remembrance with its memorial monument and one of the three French representations of General Eisenhower's coat of arms.

A magical island topped by a gravity-defying abbey, the Mont-Saint-Michel and its Bay count among France’s most stunning sights. For centuries one of Europe’s major pilgrimage destinations, this holy island is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is its breathtaking bay. Guests can either drive to the historic site or bicycle along La Véloscénie, which is just a short walk from the gîte.
