This can be spectacular at times if there is a large volume of water coming off the plateau and there is a strong south-westerly wind blowing, as spray will be start to go back over Kinder Scout!
The Kinder Downfall can also be climbed in winter to provide some good sport. A selection of ice screws and a good freeze are required. Red Brook can also provide a good outing which in appropriate conditions banks out well to provide a snow, rather than an ice climb.
