Midtbyen is the central part of Trondheim and consist mainly of old wooden houses that Trondheim is famous for. In Midtbyen there are dozens of restaurants, shops, museums, and galleries, and is the ideal place to experience the local culture of the region of Trønderlag. It is also where Nidarosdomen is located which is the central church of Norway where the consecration of new kings and queens of Norway takes place. Midtbyen can easily be reached by bus from the bus-stop Buran 1. Or if you are up for it, it can also be reached by foot.

The local bus company is called ATB and have routes all over Trondheim and its vicinity. Tickets can easily be bought from the “ATB Mobilett” app or bought at their websites: https://www.atb.no/en/tickets-and-fares/ To plan the trips, it is recommended to download the “ATB ” app, use google maps planner, or check out the routes at their website: https://www.atb.no/en/plan-your-trip/ A variety of electric scooters can be borrowed through apps like “TIER”, “Voi” and “Ryde”. «Trondheim Bysykkel» is also a convenient alternative. Here you can rent a bicycle through the “Trondheim Bysykkel” app.

Groceries

The closest grocery shop is Bunnpris Buran which is a 4-minute walk from the apartment. The regular grocery shops are closed on Sundays, but the basic needs can be covered at Buran Asia Mat which is also very close. At this shop they also sell a wider range of vegetables and fruits. Other alternatives are Coop Extra and Rema 1000 at Møllenberg, a 6-minute walk away. Meny, the more expensive alternative, are found at Solsiden. The wine monopoly (Vinmonopolet) is also located here.

Do not miss the sunset from Kristiansten Festninig or Kuhaugen at night. The sun usually sets somewhere around 22 durinig summer. For exact time, visit yr.no and look up Trondheim.
