Originally called Alaskaland this park was built to celebrate the centennial of the purchase of Alaska from Russia. A lot of the original cabins from around Fairbanks were moved here and re-purposed as tourist shops. There is a historic riverboat and a Salmon Bake during the summer.

An open pit gold mine operating just past the historic mining community of Chatanika. They used to have site tours but I believe those may have been discontinued. 🙁 But if the tours are open they are either free or inexpensive and worth the drive.

A National park the size of some states. Contains Mt Denali (previously Mt McKinley) the highest point in North America. The park is about 150 miles south of Fairbanks and contains lots of shops and tour businesses. [Availability may have changed with COVID]

A site near Fairbanks that provides guided aurora viewing tours. * Previous guests have said they enjoyed Aurora Pointe but I haven't visited this location so I cannot personally recommend it yet.
