Market Day - Downtown Winter Harbor

Run by one of Maine's conservation and food darlings Roxanne Quimby, Market Day has great pies, cookies, fresh eggs, the best made to order cider doughnuts I've ever had, and great hand made pastas..Get there early for those doughnuts, they run out fast.

Bug spray, sunscreen, H20..

Be sure to pack bug spray - there's no getting around the fact that some areas in Down East can get pretty buggy. Also pack sun screen and extra water where ever you go, and don't get too low on gas. Down East Maine is rural, driving distances between commercialized areas can catch you off guard!

Sunset Sail, Lobster Boat Tour

There are few better ways to experience the Maine coastline than by boat...Sunset sails are always a winner. This is one company that does sails (throughout the day in addition to sunset) on an iconic boat. https://downeastwindjammer.com/activities/schooner-sunset-sail/ For a private sail, or a water tour on a lobster boat, check out Sail Acadia at: https://www.sailacadia.com/
