Sightseeing

Fisher village in the bay next to us that has kept its' charm in spite of tourism. Some very nice restaurants and bars right on the beach. You can walk across the water to Rabbit Island which is now an archeological site. Also plenty of artistic stalls in summer. Very nice and laid back atmosphere - worth a visit!

Bodrum has lots of history. Visit the 15th Century Bodrum Castle with its Underwater Archeology Museum, stroll along the harbour watching the "Gullet" boats = locally built beautiful ships reminding you of Pirates of the Caribbean. Bodrum is also famous for its good night life and live music, with lots of bars and restaurants by the beach along Barlar Sokak = Bar Street. And of course there are lots of local shops in the old town as well as some good shopping centres e.g. Oasis Shopping Center.

Yalikavak is the village closest to Ocean House. Visit the local market: fruit & vegetables/spices on Tuesdays, non-food (clothes, leather, textiles and many more) on Thursdays. Stroll around the old town centre with it's small harbour by the sea., along the small stalls selling very nice arts & crafts from local artists. The new Marina is also worth a visit: very luxurious and amazing yachts to look at whilst sipping your cappuccino or Turkish tea...
