Great off-street parking in lot behind house. Hardwood floors, brand-new bed, Tuft&Needle mattress, fully equipped kitchen. This apartment was designed with B&B in mind!

The house, built in the 1850's, was one of the last of the mansions built during that period in Providence's Historic East Side. What sets this apart from similar properties from that era is that it has a sister mansion, built at the same time as they were originally built by a father for his two daughters. We have just a few basic rules/requests for the apartment:

PLUMBING
The house was built in the 1850's and has very old drain pipes, which are sensitive. Please DO NOT dispose of feminine hygiene products, paper towels etc. in the toilet!!
IF you experience a clogged drain, DO NOT use Draino or any other drain cleaning product as these may dissolve the old pipes. Simply contact me and I will be very happy to fix any such problem right away!


GARBAGE/RECYCLE
Empty trash daily (small bins for garbage and recycling are located under the sink). Trash goes in the large dumpster in the parking lot, recycle does in the recycle bin next to the dumpster. The bins across the driveway from your apartment belong to the owners of the carriage house across from your new home :)

PLEASE RESPECT OUR NEIGHBORS!
There are seven other units in the building, so please try to be respectful with noise levels, especially later at night. That said, the house is well insulated and you don't need to "be quiet" we just ask that you don't make excessive noise :)

The smaller carriage house and yard across the brick driveway from your apartment belongs to a separate owner. If you'd like to admire their house/gardens, please do so from the driveway so as not to trespass! If you are lucky enough to meet the owners, Tootz and Ernesto, you can certainly ask their permission to take a closer look!
The property on the other side of the building is also owned by another family. They have a beautiful garden and a gorgeous house, but please respectfully admire it from our portion of the property, unless invited for a closer look by our neighbor, Bryan or his wife.

NO SMOKING INSIDE
You are welcome to smoke on the property, but not in the apartment under any circumstances. If you do smoke, please dispose of butts in the garbage or we can provide you with a receptacle outside upon request.

WIFI
If you experience any trouble with the internet, please contact me to fix it as the modem and router are located outside of your apartment...

The room was large and clean with an eating space, and great, equipped kitchenette. James the owner was very responsive and thoughtful. The bed was comfortable, and the whole stay very pleasant. It was our first AirBnB stay, and made me look forward to doing it again.

James's place was fantastic. In close proximity to Thayer St, the park, and mall while still maintaining a calm quiet atmosphere. James was a great host and was very attentive. His place has all the comforts of home and is very neat and tidy! Would recommend his place to anyone visiting Providence! Also the yard is georgeous!

Stayed here for 5 nights while I was in town for a conference. Nice quiet location within walking distance of restaurants and a Whole Foods, and less than a 10 minute ride from the convention center. The apartment was super clean and seemed newly renovated. What I loved most was how thoughtfully everything was arranged and organized to maximize use of the space and make things convenient for a traveler. I would definitely recommend this Airbnb to other people staying in Providence!

James was a great host and very attentive! Always communicating about any questions or issues and also when I had a question about one of the doors, within 24 hours it was addressed. On top of that he got me breakfast and fresh coffee and juice. The apartment is also 5-10 minute walk from Thayer street which is Brown university central and also a 5-10 minute walk from Whole Foods. I would definitely stay again at James apartment!

This apartment is a perfect spot! A private entrance at the side of a large old house quiet enough to work or rest! Set back from the road in a beautifully landscaped neighborhood, this apartment is newly rehabbed in a very sophisticated understated way. Great kitchen and new bathroom and very comfortable bed! Lovely light on three sides an obvious plus!

The apartment was great and was the perfect starting point to explore Providence. Brown and downtown were in walking distance and everything else could be gotten to with a short and cheap uber drive. James responded quickly to all questions and was a great host. Would highly recommend!
