We had a wonderful Christmas week at Flagpole Cottage. The hosts' home was clean, welcoming and extremely well-equipped. We had everything necessary for preparing family feasts, having a wood fire, plenty of bathrooms and comfortable beds. Robin and Francine even left a beautifully decorated real Christmas tree for us the enjoy (and put our presents under), a very thoughtful touch. We enjoyed the hot tub and trampoline (we were lucky with the weather, cold but not rainy) as well as the local walks to pubs. We bought our Christmas turkey (ordered in advance) at the fabulous Flower Farm shop, which is nearby and is a great source for all things edible. Robin and Francine's guide to local amenities and activities is thorough and quite useful. Robin was very attentive and open to queries but everything was so clearly laid out we didn't really have any questions. One last thing - the gardens are exceptional - even in December! I was in awe - especially the topiary. The old yew trees! xx

What a hidden gem of a place! We feel so lucky to have found Stable Oak Cottages and to have spent New Year there with our family celebrating our sons 18th. The place was gorgeous and the hot tub such a treat! The alpacas were great entertainment and the luxurious little touches from bath robes and sliders, to home baked bread and muffins were just wonderful. Highly recommend.

On arrival we immediately felt at home. The surrounding area was beautiful and the grounds were large and very child friendly. My grandson chose this area to do his 4.5Km charity walk during his time here. The jacuzzi was a big hit. The house was also large and accommodated 6 adults and five children between 5 yrs to 10 yrs. with ease. A modern kitchen was very well equipped with good quality items, it was very large and easy to work in, even the larder was well stocked with essentials. You could tell that Tim, our host, takes pride in the house, furnishing it with many William Morris fabrics, amongst others, tasteful art, plus original wooden features etc. Crisp linen and decent size bathroom towels. Tim, an all round lovely chap, popped in to welcome us with a gift of local produce from a local farm shop.....the raspberry jam was to die for. games and books were aplenty also. We are hoping to return again. I will, without a doubt recommend Tim's property.

We stayed at Bokes barn for three nights in June 2024. It was for a reunion of friends. Six guys from school. Who were mates from eleven years old until twenty one years old when four of the crew went off to Australia and Canada. And the other two settled into married life. This was the first time we had been reunited for fifty two years. The barn was perfect. Six couples. Six en-suite rooms. It was spotlessly clean Extremely well equipped. With high end equipment and furnishings. Everything worked We all had the best time. We had fun in the games room I am happy to recommend this venue to anyone. You would be hard pressed to find somewhere better. Trevor Howell

Very clean, bedding and towels smelled great. Hot tub was very relaxing, nice farmland surroundings and would recommend shoes/boots that can withstand the mud!

We had such a fantastic stay here, the hot tub was a particular highlight! Lots of space and feels really secluded, but also really easy to get around and enjoy the local area. Charmian was a great host, really quick to respond and answer any questions but totally left us to it during the weekend. Would definitely recommend and would love to return!

Stunning house in the perfect location to explore Whitstable and beyond. It's so homely and looks even better than the pictures. Sophie was super responsive and nothing was too much. She kindly left a birthday cake for our mum as we were celebrating her birthday. Lovely personal touches around the home. Decor is very tastefully done for a seaside home. Wouldn't hesitate recommending or returning to this beautiful house! Close to the beach, restaurants, harbour and the bus stop if you want to go to Canterbury or other places is less than 5 mins from the house. Little tricky to always find a parking space but once parked up you won't need to move it. Sophie and her husband were just excellent hosts, you won't regret booking this for the perfect Whitstable getaway!

Charlotte was an excellent host. We appreciated her flexibility, attention to detail and prompt responds. The home is beautifully decorated and very well set up for a great stay in Whitstable.

Cecilia's place is so nice. It is small but cosy. The balcony had the beautiful wisteria growing and the surrounding gardens are extremely spacious - my dog had fun running about. We loved exploring the local area and Rye which isn't too far. Cecilia was also extremely helpful and responsive. Thank you for a great stay!

A very charming and beautiful cottage. Very clean and had everything we have wanted. There is a quaint pub right opposite which we popped into for a drink. Very friendly. We woke up to the sound of bird song and lambs. Would definitely recommend but need to note how steep the stairs are.

Bellissima esperienza per chi cerca tranquillità lontano dallo stress. Bellissimo risvegliarsi al canto degli uccelli in un posto incantevole.Vicino a circa 10 minuti a piedi c’è la ferrovia Bluebell per un esperienza unica. Sue la padrona molto gentile e disponibile.

Wat een heerlijk huisje is dit! Met vers brood & jam bij aankomst, heel fijne bedden, een prima keuken en een schitterende tuin. Het ligt aan een klein weggetje midden in de natuur, heerlijk rustig en ontzettend mooi. Goede uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes (wij zijn naar Leeds Castle en Canterbury geweest). En vlakbij ligt de Wye Crown, een prachtig uitzichtpunt over Kent, ook zeker de moeite waard!

Can only agree with other reviews. Helpful, responsive, friendly, clean, comfortable, cosy, excellent location for exploring Kent and easy day trip into London … Thank you, we had a fabulous week.

Really enjoyed our stay at Dough Cottage. From the friendly welcome from Alison and the cosy Cottage, we felt at home straight away. Location is excellent and we just wished we had longer. We do hope to return.

We fell in love with Evegate Manor Barn from the moment we arrived! It’s in a stunning location, felt very private and was the perfect first night away for us and our four month old baby! Larissa was responsive, understanding when we needed to change dates and was so helpful and welcoming! The pool and hot tub are an added bonus and our little one loved to see the chickens and explore the garden! Having the artisan village next door was amazing and we enjoyed our evening at the pub! This listing has everything you could ask for and we would love to come back later this year! Amazing hosts too, thankyou for making our stay so easy ☺️

We spent a lovely week at Alison's farm. Beautiful location near charming Ticehurst and Wadhurst (both have good Pubs), incredible views across open countryside and hills from the heated outdoor pool, which our daughter loved. Slides, swings and a trampoline bonus points with kids. Alison was friendly and helpful. The Shed itself is warm and comfortable, kitchen is kitted out for basic meals, and the two ensuite bathrooms are super spacious and have good showers with hot water plus bathtubs. There is so much to do in the area from beautiful walks, tastings at vineyards, to cyclyng in Bedgbury, boating in Bewl Water and seaside beauties Rye and Camber in the vicinity.

Carrie is a fantastic host and we enjoyed our stay at her place. The cottage has everything you need for a long family stay. And families with young kids will enjoy extra stuff like high chairs and toys. There is also a nice private garden and the bbq area.

Absolutely fabulous!! What a perfect place! The location is superb, just enough out of the way to be quiet and see all the stars, yet close enough to the cities and transportation to get anywhere you need without a fuss. Plus the pool and the gardens!! What a fantastic treat! Alex was so wonderfully accommodating and helpful! She had all the little niceties, especially for a family, that made our stay just a little bit easier. Super clean and comfortable. We could not have asked for a better host or accommodations!

We enjoyed a wonderful long Easter weekend in this charming cottage. The space was cozy and perfectly appointed, lots of old charm - original cottage was built in 1550! - and special touches that delighted our children and made us feel like we were in quite a magical little space. The gardens are beyond gorgeous and just a lovely space to sit in the sunshine and watch our children play. It was a wonderful weekend filled with children’s laughter, bird song and cozy nights by the fire as a family. Thank you Tim & Maite for sharing your gorgeous cottage with us. The children are already asking we come back soon!

Nice flat in a good location with great transport links into central London. Very clean and had everything we needed. Sue, Ralph and Jean all very friendly and quick to respond to any query. Brilliant to have access to the gardens and the swimming pool which was perfect for our children. Would definitely come back and would recommend to others. Thank you for a great week.

Great communication from Tara and a really convenient apartment in a great location. Ideal for the London Marathon start with only a short walk to the start areas in Greenwich Park.

Jodi’s home is a great place to stay. We were going to a wedding at Hackney Town Hall and could walk easily there and to the restaurant afterwards. It’s also beautifully located looking out at London Fields. The home was well provided for, we had everything we needed and so much more. We loved the decor, there was so much to see and read. Thank you Jodi, you were so helpful too and we loved your home.
