We want to offer visitors to Hobart a unique & luxurious accommodation experience, which connects modern design with its rugged, bush environment. Located in West Hobart, we are a short 8 minute drive to the Salamanca water front. Our 2 story house is nestled in a private bushy street, with amazing views of the Derwent River, South Hobart, Sandy Bay & beyond. The home is spacious and private, yet surrounded by (harmless) local wildlife. You will see many wallabies grazing on the property.

Inner city oasis

The modern studio is nestled in a luxurious garden providing a sense of serenity at the rear of our 130-year-old heritage house. Warm up next to the wood-fire after a short stroll to the local restaurants, bars and cafes located in North Hobart. Situated within 1.9km of the CBD and 2.8km to Salamanca waterfront, there is a bus stop at the end of the street. A microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and fridge are provided for your convenience, as well as a BBQ on your private deck.

Kitchen and living areas are situated mid level surrounded by a glass atrium, allowing natural light into the areas. Enjoy a relaxing bath in the bathroom downstairs. Off street parking in garage or carpark.

Centrally located in popular North Hobart, base yourself in comfort and style with the best of Hobart on your doorstep. The restaurant and café strip on nearby Elizabeth Street is a 5 minute walk, or take in a film at the historic State Cinema (rooftop screenings are generally available during the summer months). Walk into the CBD in under 20 minutes or take an Uber for $9. Ride-sharing scooters are also readily available. Sleeping 6 guests with Wi-Fi and off-street parking.

Down the Lane @ 408 - On the North Hobart Strip

Down the Lane @ 408 is tucked down a laneway on the restaurant strip of North Hobart. It is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, pubs, galleries, and opposite the iconic State Cinema. The heart of the CBD is a 15 minute gentle walk or alternatively the bus stop is directly opposite the accommodation. There is parking allocated to this accommodation. The location is one of its best assets. It is difficult to get accommodation on the strip at this price

There are two bedrooms with queen beds, one with a workstation, and a spacious mezzanine level with king singles. The original Cottage once served as the first North Hobart Post & Telegraph Office and has been recently renovated to accommodate guests. It is an upstairs studio with it's own entrance. It is warm, spacious, comfortable and self contained. The studio connects to a second separate bedroom which can be made available for additional guests. There is an outside deck for the exclusive use of guests.
