Happy House is the perfect name for this oasis! Our family was so lucky to get to stay there. The property is large and private. The covered patio ( we call it a California room in California) was amazing. The indoor/outdoor kitchen and living space was a great place for our family to relax after many adventurous days in Costa Rica. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable. There were geckos and bugs in the covered patio area but my boys loved that part! The beach is beautiful but there is a rip current right in front of the house but we walked a short distance in both directions and found great swimmable ocean for our kids. It was a great end to our Costa Rican vacation! Thanks Steve for opening up your special space to visitors! Pura Vida!

Our family had an unforgettable stay at Felipe’s lovely Airbnb in Punta Cocles. The house was surrounded by beautiful jungle, and we regularly spotted monkeys, toucans, and colorful frogs right from the porch—it felt like our own private nature retreat. The beach was just a short, easy walk away, and it quickly became our favorite place to relax and watch the waves. Felipe was incredibly kind and accommodating throughout our stay. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests having a great experience. We’re so grateful for his hospitality and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

Peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful place surrounded by nature. We’ve seen macaw parrots , agouits, hummingbirds , toucans, howler monkey, butterflies including blue morpho! Beautiful beach just right there in front of you. Monica very helpful. Definitely recommend!

Daniel went above and beyond to make sure we had nothing short of an amazing stay here in Casa Cocles! Daniel was checking on us through the trip to make sure we knew of the local spots and must-visit areas. He also greeted us with some fresh cut fruit to munch which was very refreshing! The location is at a really convenient spot that allowed for worry-less travel between different activities. We ended up visiting the animal rescuer center, countless Puerto Viejo restaurants, Cahuita National Park, BriBri tribe territory, lots of beaches , etc and these all felt very accesible and easy to get to with or without a rental car. Some tours even offer to pick us up exactly at Casa Cocles for free! We were super grateful and happy with our stay, and will definitely be coming back here for future getaways!

David war der perfekte Gastgeber, kümmert sich freundschaftlich um seine Gäste und um deren Wohlbefinden. Sogar der gesamte Strand wird von David bei seinem morgendlichen Spaziergang mit dem Hund "tress" von Müll befreit. Das Haus wird autonom mit Regenwasser und Solarstrom ohne Probleme betrieben. Wir haben den Aufenthalt in der ruhigen Ferienwohnung sehr genossen, besonders die ausgedehnten Spaziergänge am Strand bis in das angrenzende Naturschutzgebiet.

Hospedaje excelente, con buena ubicación y cerca de la playa

Unser Aufenthalt war einfach nur traumhaft. Die alte Bibliothek gibt einen magischen Vibe und die Lage ist einfach traumhaft. Direkt am Strand gelegen und mit den bereitgestellten Fahrrädern nur ein paar Minuten vom Nationalpark entfernt. Silvia war super nett und hilfsbereit. Mitten in der Nacht hat ein Faultier bei uns im Schlafzimmer vor dem Regen Schutz gesucht, und hat uns ein magisches Erlebnis beschert. Davon werden wir bestimmt bis ans Ende unseres Lebens erzählen! Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und allen empfehlen hier zu übernachten, die einen ganz besonderen Ort suchen. Danke!

Beautiful accomodations with ipen air kitchen and modern, air-conditioned bedrooms/showers. Jungle enclave just a few hubdred meters from the black sand beach. On site swimming pool, comfortable sitting area and tables adacent to the pool. Bus stop and groceries just outside the gate. Easy walk along the beach to Puerto Viejo or take a tuk tuk for 2.000 colones. Host very responsive and proactive. Would stay here again and highly recommend

This home is a gem in disguise. The landscaping is absolutely beautiful. We came here for a week. It was a long drive from the San Jose international airport but well worth it. Very sweet local town. The people in the town are really nice. The food is absolutely delicious and clean. Ice cream is delicious. We had a wonderful vacation, celebrating our sister’s 60th birthday. We loved having the pool to relax at during the heat of the day. Great kitchen to make breakfast everyday. Grocery store is not far at all. The dog and 2 cats are so cute and sweet. We came to the jungle villa in 2018. We were so enchanted by this house and the beauty of its surroundings that we knew we would be back again. Came back again for my birthday this year and yes it felt like home!! The people, the FOOD in the local restaurants, and the beauty of this country is amazing! Looking forward to returning someday. Thank you Leslie, Ana, and Arturo for being amazing hosts.

Honestly, this is the one. Rasta 420 friendly. Safe secure, private beach , nice pool, good restaurant, amazing host. Close enough to everything but far enough from everyone. This one is on my 100% stay again list. Pura Vida 🙌

Dieses Airbnb ist ein kleines Paradies auf Erden! Umgeben von üppigen Pflanzen fühlt man sich in dieser grünen Oase sofort wohl. Besonders gefiel uns die wunderschöne große Terrasse, die wir zum Essen und relaxen ausgiebig nutzten. Dank der Umzäunung und dem großen Tor kann man sich jederzeit sicher fühlen und ist auch für sich. Die Unterkunft ist am Rande von Puerto Viejo, sodass man an der Straße 256 in die Stadt oder zum Strand läuft. Alternativen wie Tuktuk oder einen Leih-Scooter machen die Sache einfacher und flexibler. Wie fast überall in Puorto hört man hauptsächlich tagsüber die Durchgangsstraße. Nachts ist kaum Verkehr. Jerome war ein ausgezeichneter und aufmerksamer Gastgeber – sympathisch, äußerst hilfsbereit und ein faszinierender Gesprächspartner. Wir sind schweren Herzens abgereist und empfehlen diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiter.

Para iniciar Jerson es una persona súper amable , servicial y atenta. Y sobre el lugar se puede ir caminando a la playa más cerca, al supermercado, sino quieres salir por la noche a comer por que prefieres quedarte en la tranquilidad del hotel, Jerson te felicita un express que te ofrece todo tipo de comida. Las instalaciones son muy bonitas , todo muy limpio y súper seguro y tranquilo. Lo recomiendo al mil 👌🏽

Fue una estancia muy agradable , con casas muy bien cuidadas en medio de un jardín muy especial . La casa completamente equipada y la confianza de la anfitriona es increíble, además el pueblo de Cahuita y el Parque Nacional es impresionante, muy recomendado .

This airbnb is exactly as the pictures. It is absolutely beautiful and very spacious. Things to note is that only the lower bedrooms have AC. The upstairs living room was very nice! The house is private, but a lot further out from town so you’ll need transportation to and from as there are not many restaurants nearby. The host, Jorge was always very responsive and helpful. Overall we had such a great stay and can’t wait to be back.

What a magical place! Our family of five loved our stay at Amanda’s casita. It was clean and cool with a well equipped kitchen including a coffee maker, toaster and blender (which we used to make delicious smoothies!) The high ceilings and strong ceiling fans provided a welcome retreat from the heat and the mosquito netting over the beds gave us peace of mind at night. The beautiful calm waters of the Caribbean are literally steps from the front door which was ideal for our children (9, 7, & 5) as it made it easy to slip back and forth from beach to house throughout the day. There is reef right off the beach and with snorkeling gear we rented from Amanda we enjoyed spotting tropical fish. With everything so walkable we were able to slow down and spend our days between beach and hammock. In the evenings we would walk to a lovely beach side restaurant. Amanda organized a guide who took us on a very engaging & informative hike through Manzanillo wildlife refuge which the kids loved.

This place was wonderful, rustic, secluded, in the midst of nature and next to a beautiful, peaceful beach, Playa Negra! There is a restaurant with delicious food only a few steps down the beach, gorgeous setting; a grocery store just a bit further, also the police station and bus stop. We walked or rode bicycles to and from town nearly every day. You can take the main road along the beach or walk on the beach. Either way is so lovely! We rode the bus to places like Manzanillo and Cahuita. One day, we rented an ATV and went to some nearby waterfalls. Absolutely incredible!!!! The house is fun and relaxing. Anything you may want or need, just ask. They're really nice. Lynch and Pamela are fast to respond and very informative. This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and Lynch made it easy and enjoyable. He also does tours. We took a sloth and kayak tour, which we loved! We can hardly wait to return!

Enjoyed another stay at Fabian’s! Had everything we needed, in a great location, with a little walk to the beach. Nearby restaurants and grocery stores are convenient, along with abundant nature. I recommend!

Wir haben uns von Anfang an total wohl und wie Zuhause gefühlt. Arabellas Holzhaus auf Stelzen ist wirklich wunderschön, stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet - ein Traum! Dazu die herrliche Veranda mit Schaukelstühlen, wo wir jeden Tag viele Stunden verbracht und genossen haben, da man dort diverse Vögel und andere Tiere beobachten konnte. Wir sahen u.a. viele Tukane, Iguanas und sogar einmal auch ein Faultier mit Baby! Diesen Anblick werden wir nie vergessen. Auch mit unserer Ansprechpartnerin vor Ort, der lieben Nachbarin Chana, haben wir uns prächtig verstanden und sie war immer schnell erreichbar. Alles in allem hatten wir wunderschöne und unvergessliche 10 Tage in Arabellas Wohlfühloase! Wir können dieses Haus jedem ans Herz legen, der Natur, Ruhe und Tiere liebt, gleichzeitig aber auch gerne fußläufig in Strand- und Ortsnähe wohnt.

This home is the perfect beach villa! With a private pool surrounded by wonderful landscape, our family had a blast. Driving distance to anything you could need and walking distance to the black sand beaches (which feel like soft velvet)! Thanks for being wonderful hosts and we will be back 💛

We absolutely loved staying at Jan's place. Both Jan and Yoshi went above and beyond in answering any questions we had prior to arriving, including providing us a connection to book tours ahead of time. They were also flexible and kind when our plans changed a couple weeks before the trip, and we very much appreciated that. When there, they sent us lots of recommendations for beaches/restaurants, along with answering any questions we had promptly. The house was clean and the gardens were just stunning. With the private gate and location we felt safe staying there, and the possibility to lock valuables up in a safe was a great extra option. We loved being able to just walk a few steps to the beautiful beach even just to have our morning coffee by the water :) All in all, we would definitely recommend staying at Jan/Yoshi's place. The beautiful location combined with the responsive, helpful hosts made our trip so enjoyable. If ever in the location we would love to stay again!
