Had an amazing time! The cottage was amazing and our hosts were extremely helpful with all of our questions 😊 10/10 would recommend anyone to stay here!

Lovely few days stay, Hayley was very friendly and helpful. Cottage is stunning, much bigger than the photos show and had everything’s we needed. Beds very comfy and big en-suites in every room (although there was only 2 of us) secure garden for our two miniature dachshunds which was great. Location is very peaceful and quiet. Can recommend lunch at the Cumberland which was about a 10 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend this place.

Gatecroft barn (& spa!) is a delightfully quaint little cottage in a fairly remote part of the North Pennines area. My wife and I were looking for somewhere almost off grid, from which we could walk our dog, enjoy walks together and indulge in a spot of fell running. We needed it to be not tooooo far from some kind of shops and close enough to drive if we fancied somewhere special to eat. We were also looking for somewhere with a little something else, a cherry on top. Well we found that, in spades! Garrigill is picturesque and then some. There are walks/ runs from the front door! The cottage is well equipped. The hot tub (the cherry on top!) is perfect for after the adventurous days in the great outdoors - hygiene and cleanliness of which is exemplary. The host was as helpful as you could hope for (def one of the better hosts we’ve come across!) and made some great recommendations - most of which we used and welcomed! Including a meal at Langley Castle. We’ll definitely go back… 5*

We had a wonderful 6 days in this beautiful and charming cottage. It’s well kitted out, clean, has stunning views and is full of character. It’s easy to find. It’s Quiet. The hot tub was an excellent addition and in a perfect spot. The only downside was that it was quite a drive into the north/west lakes but we did know that and expected it to be the case before we arrived. There’s lots of lovely nearby walks too. I’d definitely recommend. You will not be disappointed, it’s a lovely place to stay.

I loved The Loft, it was just perfect. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything you could want or need, lots of lovely little touches made it really special. The view from the decking and the hot tub was spectacular and we spent many mornings and evenings just enjoying the peace and the surrounding views. I would definitely book again.

Thanks Ben, we had a great weekend at Stanley Cottage. We really appreciated all the thoughtful touches, dog treats, human treats, phone chargers, hair straighteners, bathroom products!! The cottage was very comfortable and the hot tub a welcome pause, thank you.

We had a really nice stay. The cottage was lovely and well kept with great shower facilities and little touches including a welcome pack of local produce. Sharon came to clean the hot tub each morning with the filter being changed between guests, bbq area (with large disposable BBQ to use, birds singing in a sheltered garden. Bathroom and hot tub towels provided, washing machine and tumble dryer easy to use. The beds were comfy and blackout blinds in all rooms. Beautiful surroundings; able to walk 30 minutes to an ice cream farm with play area or drive 5 minutes to Lowther castle

Wow! What a find! The house is stunningly situated amongst amazing views and surrounded by nature and wildlife. We loved looking out across the hills from the hot tub and playing in the field in front of the house and on the swings down by the pond. The village is in close walking distance even with a 3 year old in tow. The cottage itself feels special with beautiful wooden furniture which I assume comes from the timber farm it’s on. The rooms are spacious yet have that cosy cottage feel. The hosts are friendly, responsive and helpful without being intrusive - they were on hand as and when we needed them. Overall, a wonderful 2 night break was enjoyed and we would love to stay here again!

Great location for what we were doing. Hosts very helpful and responsive. Accommodation lovely and cosy, traditional cottage with modern features inside. Hopefully will stay again.

Lovely decorated cottage. Close to shops, beach and harbour, always space to park. The cottage was clean and fully equiped. Penny was always in contact and helpful and one little problem she took care of super fast. We enjoyed our stay and would definitly come again.

Outstanding cottage, would love to come back soon! The photos don’t do it justice! It’s even better when you’re there. Spotlessly clean, beautiful kitchen/dining room and comfortable bed. The views from the back garden were fab! I can’t recommend this enough, would have happily stayed there longer and will definitely return. It was a lovely gesture that Kate even baked for us!! Beautiful cottage 5 mins from beach. Very clean and tidy, milk in fridge on arrival for a much needed cuppa. Good communication from Nick. Would stay again.

We booked The Nest last minute and Anette was extremely attentive from the start to finish of our stay. The house was exactly as described & was immaculate. Bed was so comfortable & lots of attention to detail! Great location for exploring the local area. Pub right across the road with good pub grub , Co Op literally paces away& a fabulous foodie pub The Eskdale is a 10 min walk away. Thank you Annette we loved our stay as did our dog !

Lovely cottage in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable, Diane has thought of everything and the little extras like the dog blankets/bowls were very much appreciated. The wood burner made us extra cosy when we had a rainy evening. Great to have parking and somewhere near to exercise our dog. An ideal location , we had days out to Kielder Forest & Seahouses as well as exploring the Roman fort sites. Would definitely recommend this cottage and hopefully we will be back. Thank you.

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. Lovely weekend at Button Cottage. Cottage is in a fantastic location for local walks and easy access to nearby towns. Cottage was clean and cozy and had everything we needed, even our dog was catered for with food and water bowls, towel and treats, the human welcome goodies were very much appreciated as well. The cottage was well equipped with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. All in all a great little place to stay, would definitely recommend.

Very relaxing break in a lovely home. The area is quiet and peaceful. Lovely walk along the promenade to cafe needles eye (definitely worth a visit!)

Just wow! We’ve just got back from a simply amazing stay at Pam & Richard’s beautiful cottage. Some highlights for us were: 1) the little touches from treats for the dog to home baking, we felt so well looked after 2) the beautiful surroundings, it was so peaceful, no photos can really do it justice 3) the cottage itself, the beds were so comfortable, the bathrooms were spotless and it had everything you need. Pam and Richard were just lovely, and whilst they’re just next door, they didn’t impose at all, we had some brilliant recommendations for walks and food. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you both! x

The cottage is beautiful, peacefully located in the farm yet very easily approachable. It has everything you'll need for your stay. Best part of the cottage is many windows, the are numerous windows and each one is giving beautiful view of outside farm, courtyard or sky. Rach is lovely and very helpful, would definitely recommend this to everyone.

The Vault is the perfect place to stay while visiting Hexham. It really was a home from home. Super clean, cosy and a great location. Alex was a great, friendly host. Can’t recommend Alex and The Vault highly enough. Thank you Alex

We had a great family gathering to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our eldest son and his family next door in #12 and our youngest and wife with us. I am partially disabled due to a fall after our initial booking and expressed my concern about the showering facilities before arriving. Michael responded to this by adding grab rails, shower stool and mat before our arrival. Full marks for that. I had also been concerned by the prospect of climbing stairs, but managed them well enough. The cottage was light, bright and very clean . It is 5 minutes to Cullercoats Bay beach, albeit down a steep hill. There is Co-Op store 5 minutes walk in the other direction. Didn't try the Queen's Head but did go to the free jazz lunchtime session in the Cullercoats Crescent Club and was made most welcome. We would use this cottage again if the occasion shoud arise.

We booked as a last minute bank holiday get away, the cottages was cosy and homely and had everything we needed for a relaxed stay. Andrew was a great host and the cottage guide was very informative. The location was ideal for exploring Northumberland.
