A cast iron gas stove adds to the ambiance on those chilly evenings. Alternatively, throw open the French doors to make the most of the beautiful setting and enjoy al fresco dining on the verandah, overlooking the lake—a king-size bed, with an ensuite bathroom/WC, and a large bath and shower overhead. The cottage is a Grade II listed barn conversion offering a welcoming base for your stay. Heating is provided by a biomass boiler, so very eco friendly. There is also a wood burning stove to keep you cosy. We are in a quiet village called East Cottingwith: a fantastic base for visiting York and touring Yorkshire. Ideal for cyclists, bird watchers, walkers and anyone who wishes to enjoy a rural location close to the attractions of the city of York. There is no regular public transport.
