Te Awa cottage is modern, light and airy has a high stud & 2 well sized bedrooms with a comfortable Ikea Sofa bed in the lounge. There is spacious dining inside & out. Kitchen/bathroom a well equipped clean environment. Love to share flowers & produce from the garden/farm when available. We love people coming to stay & sharing our knowledge of the area. This lovely villa was built in the early 1900’s by the McCluggage Family, who operated sawmills in the area. Their endeavors included the construction of a tunnel, in 1924, at the rear of the property to provide access to timber on the Whangamomona Saddle where it still remains today. This little cottage has the benefits of staying in the country but also being close enough to pop out to town. In 12mins you can be in the center of New Plymouth or head along State Highway 45 and in 6 min you will be in the beautiful coastal beach township of Oakura. From the deck you have farm and sea views, and out the back, the mountain. There is always a horse or two to pat, and the odd cheeky chicken around. Relax in the evening on the deck and watch the sun go down.
