After getting clearance from the tower, you’ll taxi to the runway for takeoff. Once at cruising altitude, you’ll learn basic flying skills in the training area over the Simi Valley. Then, grab hold of the controls and feel free to move about the skies, exploring LA by air. Finally, in preparation for landing, you’ll come back down to earth at Van Nuys Airport. A morning hike to stunning city views, in a dog friendly park with our rescue dogs! Non-profit, all proceeds go to the very dogs you are walking, who are also up for adoption. We'll meet friendly people on the way and let them know about the dogs. A nice walk up hiking trails to the top of Runyon Canyon. Fantastic city views, and the perfect view of the Hollywood Sign! As you climb your way up the hill with your new pals in tow, you’ll be exercising and socializing the dogs, and letting locals know they’re up for adoption. You’ll also become a puppy paparazzi and take their photos in front of panoramic backdrops—you can even pose with them with the famous Hollywood sign behind you. Your pictures will then be used to generate interest in the rescue organization, attract potential adopters, and bring in donations that will help further care for and foster the dogs until they find their forever homes. NEW! We have added afternoon hikes Thursday through Saturday. Watch the sun set from 1000 feet above LA, amazing view as we walk down Runyon Canyon... and then you can go explore Hollywood and West Hollywood, a short walk away for an evening coffee or dinner! OUR GOAL IS FOR YOU TO HAVE AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE SURFING - whether its your first time or you're trying to advance your skills. We'll get suited up in the wetsuits I provide, grab the surfboards (we don't use 'one size fits all' Wavestorm boards - we offer custom boards in a variety of sizes to fit your needs) and head down to the sand. For the first 20-30 minutes we’ll be training on the beach, then it’s 60-80 minutes with an instructor in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun in the water. The classes are taught by myself or one of our great instructors. We usually have the 2nd instructor helping in the water when the group exceeds 6-7 people. We will take photos of you in and out of the water in the last 10-15 minutes of the experience. These are not professional pics but a great memory for you, your friends and family. Imagine your breakfast with wholesome, nutritious eggs from your own backyard hens. Raising chickens is rewarding for the whole family. Come see for yourself! Get a chance to hand-feed our hens (fun for photographs) and see if it's for you. Or just relive what it is like to be around them if your grandma had them or if you were raised with them. I'll answer your questions and cover the dos and don'ts for starting and caring for your flock. How to choose the right breeds for your area, what age you want (Day-old chicks? Laying age? Hatching eggs?), house them, feed them, care for them, and still have your neighbors on speaking terms. This Experience focuses on chickens as pets and for eggs. I don't keep roosters or meat birds, although I will be happy to answer questions. Seating is provided. I will provide some resource notes on raising chickens as well as egg-based recipes to try later. My hope is you’ll enjoy spending time in appreciation of Nature, learn about where our food comes from, and slow down long enough to appreciate the sights, sounds and habits of chickens.

Back by popular demand! You will learn basic woodworking techniques by creating your very own air plant holder. A variety of woods will be available to choose from. You'll create a unique shape for your planter or you can use one of my ready-made templates. After cutting out your creation on the bandsaw and shaping it on the belt sander, I will show you how to expertly sand and finish your piece so that you can proudly display your holder at home, or give it as a gift. You'll leave with a finished piece and an air plant to put in it. Other things to note: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, things that you don't mind getting dirty. The woodshop is a dusty place! Long hair should be tied back.

In this experience, we will dive into the Japanese art of kokedamas. We will first talk about the fascinating history of this old art form, as well as how it is related to Japanese customs and the philosophy of wabi sabi. Then, I will show you how to make your first kokedama. Making kokedamas involves turning peat moss into a soil ball and then wrapping it in sheet moss to create a self sustaining pot to hold your plant. Each person will have their own station to create TWO kokedamas, that will eventually be taken home. This is perfect for those who are looking for a romantic and unique date or an enjoyable time spent with a family member learning a new trade. We have hosted many birthday and bachelorette parties, if you are looking for a special way to celebrate in nature. We are also perfect for group team building if you'd like to do a private corporate/business class. Come prepared to get your hands dirty!

We'll explore some of the hidden treasures of the Los Angeles River's Glendale Narrows section. Full of birds, bugs and plants, it's a photogenic stretch with the dynamic and vibrant neighborhood of Frogtown just above. The LA River Corgis - Kasha and Chase - will also be on hand for their cameos. You will be outdoors and likely moving the entire time, which makes this an ideal outing for COVID times. It varies with each group, but our route is usually 1 1/2 to 2 miles. Your guide, Anthea Raymond, is a long-time resident and kayaker active in the River communities. From the adjacent bike path and pocket parks, she'll tell you about the the unique landscape and history of the river -- the birthplace of Los Angeles. She will also take you inside the soft-bottom riverbed. You will also get the inside scoop on the creative businesses popping up next to the river as well as as plans to create a world class park there. Other things to note: Wear your walking shoes. Bring a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, and, of course, your smartphone or camera! We'll provide the corgi treats. Be ready for some corgi hugs and kisses. Feel like raising the adventure level? Let us know and we can schedule special routes that take you to the LA River's yet-untamed left bank. These walks would meet at different locations and might include a stop at a former train yard.

High Horse Malibu offers private and semi-private (up to four riders) horseback rides in one of the most secluded and scenic areas in Malibu! Our trails traverse rolling hills, wooded canyons, and striking rock formations, with sweeping ocean vistas around every corner! A one of a kind experience you won't forget. Right after you book you'll receive an email from us collecting some basic info (physical stats, riding experience, etc.) so that we have the perfect horses tacked and ready when you arrive. Upon arrival you'll be introduced to your guide and acquainted with your horse. We start every ride off with a ten to fifteen minute riding lesson to get you comfortable and confidant. I will lead the group in a short meditation to help everyone tune into a creative process. After the group will have an hour to work on their masterpiece. There will be relaxing music playing in the background and will guide the group with encouraging comments as needed . At the end of the drawing, there will be a separate time given to everyone to share of their experience. If you feel drawn to share what came up while you were painting, I will give extra time to share. At the end of the class, everyone will have an opportunity to pick a card with an encouraging message that always links up to the intuitive work that we do in class. “Get in touch with your true self” A unique experience that welcomes people of different age. Embrace the mystery and explore your creative side. Intuitive painting is definitely not about creating a painting that looks like mine or another artist’s. It’s about finding your own voice, your own look, as you explore the intuitive process. That too will evolve with time. My intention for each class is to create a non-judgemental and safe environment for everyone to express themselves freely. Remember, everyone posses a seed of creativity. All supplies are provided. A perfect romantic date. Escape onto the ocean to experience the spectacular night scenery as our yacht slowly trolls along the beautifully lit and sparkling Long Beach night cityscape. As we depart, you'll melt into our beanbags up top, with your music specially curated to pair with the serenity of the amazing sights and lights on the water. Get up super close to the colorful raging waterfall, giant mural, Queen Mary ocean liner, rainbow bridge and the perfectly lit up Aquarium of the Pacific in rainbow harbor. You'll take amazing photos over the water as we get up close to some of the iconic city light views that make Long Beach famous. The Long Beach cityscape is beautiful, and it is equally stunning day or night. Want a private cruise? Of course you do! Control the music, let your hair down and bring your own drinks. You'll have the ride to yourselves! Don't see the time you want? We will be happy to open a custom time for your private group. Just ask! (Please do not ask to open a new time for a public trip). Other things to note. Don't worry about getting seasick! The yacht experiences minimal motion while on this type of cruise. Alcohol is allowed on Private trips ONLY. Minors allowed on private trips only with parents present. Always bring a warm coat! The wind chill can make it very cold. Tipping your captain is customary but not compulsory.
