We stayed over Christmas, gorgeous house, didn’t need to use the car at all, very central location. Lyn was a great host, will definitely book again.

Absolutely magical stay! Sarah’s Airbnb exceeded all expectations. The private lake was serene and perfect for morning coffees and evening strolls, and the hot tub under the stars was the ultimate way to unwind. The scenery is absolutely stunning—pictures don’t do it justice. And we can’t forget Wilson the cat, who made us feel truly at home with his cheeky little visits (and his “presents”)! Every detail was thoughtful, and Sarah was a fantastic host. We’ll definitely be back!

Brilliant little home, clean & really comfy beds. Was a perfect location for us to attend a friend’s wedding less than 10 minutes down the road. Even the little touches of a biscuit/jam basket and a little bottle of milk so we could have a coffee as soon as we checked in. Amazing. Thanks so much Joanne, perfect get away for us.

It’s a wonderful experience staying here. It has best towels I have ever experienced, comparable to the top quality hotels. The e bedrooms suits us very well. We also spend a lot of time in the kitchen and dining area, eating and working. I also give high remarks on the interior finishes style. And many others, including some tasty biscuits prepared for us.

A very nice apartment at a fantastic location. Close to shops and tram-station. Maybe a bit for the center of town, but for us it was perfect. And Jo was a very proactive and responding host.

I was delighted to stay in this Airbnb. I felt instantly at home, it was warm, cosy, v comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend and stay again. It was just down the street from the train station, and the local shops of Waterloo

There was good communication prior to us arriving. The apartment was spotless, seems very new, everything was comfortable. Loads of space! There were four of us and it was anything but cramped. Even with double the number of people it would still feel extremely spacious. Amazing view from the balcony - we didn't go in summer but would be amazing to sit out there in the sunshine! You're quite near a main road but you don't hear it and it means you've got easy access to the towns, villages and countryside nearby. Perfect if you want to explore. If we're back in the area we'd definitely check to see if the apartment is available. Highly recommended.

Beautiful spacious apartment, with every need perfectly catered for. From the coffee machine to the keyless entry (great idea) to parking. Comfy beds. Large rooms. Location is great, easy walking to everything in town and perfect to explore further afield. Communication brilliant. Perfect.

A truly beautiful location and a lovely cottage. We had a great week and wished we could have stayed longer. Jane was on hand with lots of local information and made us feel very much at home.

The cottage is a great place to stay. Quiet and comfortable and within easy reach of places to visit, walk and shop. We were very lucky with the weather and because the skies were clear were able to star-gaze which was wonderful. There's everything you need for a break away from home. As you'd expect, staying high in the hills in a rural location, the water pressure isn't great but it gets the job done. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We're hoping to stay at the cottage again to continue to explore the area.

Beautiful place to stay, stayed for 2 weeks, wished it could have been longer. It was perfect, tranquil and just what I needed.

We booked this weekend away for my birthday and our stay exceeded our expectations. The cottage is absolutely beautiful - extremely clean, cosy and truly felt like a home away from home. The surroundings are peaceful, you can fall asleep to the sound of the stream outside. Everything you need is within walking distance. Holmfirth town centre is lovely - lots of restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from. The Pickled Pheasant is a must visit. All in all a 10/10 stay and will definitely be returning in the future. Me and my partner took his relatives for a short trip out while visiting UK. As soon as we walked through the front door, relatives mouths were on a floor, it was nothing as they expected. The place was so beautiful and homely and well designed. We were so happy with separate bathrooms so we didn't need to queue by the bathroom door each day. Glass round ish dining table was surreal, which made room look bigger. Great amount of logs provided. Hot tub was awesome! Relatives thought it will be too cold outside but once they were in, nobody could get out! Haha Everyone started to plan the next trip in summer here once everything is green outside. Couldn't ask for more. Description said no towels or shampoo. We got towels provided, which was a nice touch. No shampoos but I thought also no hand wash etc, but that things were provided. Oven was spotless, which made the place feel way cleaner too! Overall great stay and sounds like we will be back!

We had a lovely Easter weekend at Patty's Barn staying in the Purple Pheasant. This really is a special place for a peaceful holiday with beautiful nature trails and coastal walks close by. There's some child friendly activities on site via a games room and football and rugby pitches. The accommodation was very clean to a high standard and communication with Michelle was easy, warm and friendly. My advice is to visit Scorton nearby for a nice family day out - Cockerham itself it small and its a shame the local pub has closed but there is a fantastic brewery - a short 5 mile drive.

The cottage was perfect for our little family. We have a toddler and there were plenty of suitable toys and books which meant we were able to pack lightly. Alaistair was very helpful with providing things to make our stay easier, for example a stair gate and a high chair. The cottage was just the right size for us as our toddler had freedom to safely explore and we were always nearby without having to chase! We really enjoyed our time in Parbold and found plenty to do. We could easily have stayed for a week and still had enough to do. The atmosphere of the cottage and the village was peaceful and friendly. We would definitely stay at Mill cottage again in future.
