This was such a beautiful property to visit. The view is incredible. We especially enjoyed walking the trails that are cut through the meadows with our dog and watching the birds at the feeders and the cows grazing in the distance. The bottle of wine was a lovely welcome. Our teenagers enjoyed the pool table as well as the unique surroundings. Beds were comfortable. Short drive to Galena and Elizabeth. Highly recommend staying here!

The place was perfect. Everything was as described. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely settling and very relaxing, plus anything you could need was provided. The guest book was very informative. Quick ride to downtown. I will definitely check in to renting this spot again on my next visit in the near future. I’d love to stay again, it was so cozy I hated to leave! Thank you for your hospitality!

What a great place and great hosts! Nice of Don to share history of the place. One of the best stocked places we've stayed. Also very clean with plenty of bedding and towels! The barn located behind is wonderful--great pizza, great beers and plenty of room. Truly one of the best places we've stayed.

Checking in was a bit of an issue but the place is very convenient! Everything was clean and as described. You’ll have everything you can think of to make meals (plates, cups, silverware, bowls, pots and pans, toaster, etc.. even seasonings! That was impressive being that usually you only have salt and pepper if you’re lucky. My only regret was not staying an extra day.

This place is so cozy and comfortable! The view from the loft is so beautiful and the children loved watching the barges go past. Very family friendly. Recommend 100%

We stayed in a studio room & it was the perfect size for 2 people. With a queen bed, couch & chair there was plenty of room to sprawl out. The bathroom was also incredible with a huge jetted tub. The kitchen came with any essentials for cooking & was easy to work with. It was about a 12 min drive from downtown Galena, but the view was definitely worth it! Jesse was great to work with & responded quickly with any requests. Would definitely stay here & with Jesse again!!

Jan was great!! The place messed up our room but she did her best to make it right. We appreciate her attention and her desire to fix the situation.

This place is a beautiful little getaway. Right up the road from the river, it is peaceful and quiet. Lots of fun architecture to see in town and the river walk is lovely. Our dogs were welcomed which made the trip 10x more enjoyable. The house is cozy, warm and feels very much like home. Sue has an entry table in the home with suggestions for local activities, eateries, shopping which was nice to refer to. Overall we were happy with the space. It was nice to know that Sue was in the house next door for questions, but she very much provided privacy unlike some places I’ve stayed. I highly recommend!

My husband and I had one of the romantic evenings ever staying here. Absolutely everything was perfect. We walked to the restaurant, Highlands, and enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the golf course and a bottle of wine without the worry of driving. The bathtub & fireplace were everything!! Worth every penny & more!
