Shashank came on video call to ensure that we reach the destination promptly, caretakers were willing workers, always ready to respond, house is as in photos, superb interior, meets all our needs in given space, cosy, very clean. Outside views from verandah are superb. Watched sunset. Perhaps the best Airbnb listing I have stayed so far.

Overall experience was worthy according to time we had in his peaceful stay . Away from the busy cities . You want home away from real chaotic lifestyles. It provides that. View of the surroundings could be more enhanced if balcony of the apartment faced the real view. But won’t complain on that part as the view was seconds to walkable distance once you were downstairs. Place was tidy enough. Rahul himself was very responsive in taking care of his guest. Felt satisfied with the stay in this serene surrounding which had good market accessibility and good connectivity with the rest of the interesting places. So if want to plan a stay in quiet places, it worth the deal. As our plan was for 3 days but we eventually extended it .

Amazing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city life. A place worth visiting, and spending just one day is not enough! You can see the white peaks clearly early in the morning. Perfect to spend time with the loved ones. Road that leads to the stay is also really nice and you can easily take your car there too.

I had a wonderful stay at La Vie in the Mountains in Majkhali, Ranikhet, hosted by the warm and caring Sarika Verma. The location, 10 km from the main Ranikhet, was peaceful, scenic, and calm, with nearby short treks. The home was well-equipped and comfortable, and Trilok, the helpful caretaker, made sure everything was taken care of. Cleanliness was good, and although I expected towel and linen changes every 2-3 days, they were taken care of when requested. The terraces had spectacular views, though the Himalayan peaks were hazy. I enjoyed the presence of birds and cows. The homestay was perfect for work and meditation, with good connectivity. Sarika even arranged a ground-floor room for my elderly parents, catered to their food preferences, and ensured their comfort. I highly recommend La Vie in the Mountains for a peaceful and well-cared-for stay in Majkhali, Ranikhet!

A great place. Just what we wanted. The cottage - is not very old. Yet it is built in local fashion with local materials but with all modern 'living amenities' as listed. In keeping with the mountain terrain it is built at 'levels. 'Full of knick knacks, a fire place & so on.... All this gives it a very cosy , yet rustic feel, very authentic & lovable. The cottage does not have a 'living room', but that is compensated by the large verandah overlooking the property. Grand views all day. the owners were present in their other house on the property. Very friendly yet not intrusive. One does not expect such help full caretakers in a airbnb. The caretaker cum househelp cum handyman Mr. Bobby Singh who is on hand 24/7 is a gem. he cleans, cooks, advises(if asked). Plus there is Mr. Anand Singh who takes care of the 'grounds' of the property, who helps in procuring groceries & stuff. Two people to help !!! Almost like a serviced resort . You can find millions of homes on Airbnb, but this is what true hospitality feels like. You don’t need to visit a Taj, an Oberoi, or some palace in Dubai to feel special — the warmth, care, and love here surpass them all. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed like family. Every meal, from the home-cooked breakfast to lunch, evening tea, and dinner, was made with heart and tasted like comfort. The amenities are all thoughtfully arranged. Car parking is available just 200 meters away, and then a little trek leads you to this peaceful haven, nestled right in the mountains. No traffic, no honking — only the calming sounds of nature. We had an amazing stay at this beautiful jungle retreat. The last 1 km to the property is a steep ascent which we covered by a 4x4, which added to the adventure. The bungalow is tastefully done, super comfortable, and has all the modern amenities you’d need. It’s spread across three floors, and waking up to the sound of birds every morning was such a heartwarming experience. There’s a lovely machan on the property that offers stunning panoramic views of the jungle. It's great spot to just relax, enjoy the breeze, and take it all in. The caretakers were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Don’t miss the hike to the river! It’s a steep walk down, so if hiking isn't your thing, you can hire a gypsy ride for an additional fee (totally worth it). Overall, a peaceful, refreshing, and memorable getaway. Highly recommended!

I had a fantastic stay at Digvijay’s cottage. It’s in the mid of a tee estate (it’s not a massive tea estate but a small one, but peaceful.) The room is absolutely minimalist but makes you feel like home. It’s a wooden cottage and you get that old time charm. It’s a two story cottage with bedrooms upstairs and bathroom, kitchen, work desk etc. at ground floor. For food, if you are really keen on fancy food probably you can cook yourself as the place has a 2 burner gas stove or you can eat at some eatery before reaching here (No fancy restaurants around). The other option is to ask the caretaker Mr Girish to cook for you. He cooks homely meals and charges for it additionally. Beyond that, on a clear day you can catch glimpse of snow cladded Himalayas from the cabin itself. Parking is available at the property but driving down that Slope could test your driving skills thoroughly. All in all a lovely place to stay. I was there in 3 week of April 2025.
