The Harbinson Homestead

This cozy log-cabin was built by hand in 1929 and remains a living work of art. Located in the rolling hills of Homer, just 20 min. from Downtown, this stunning old homestead offers an authentic Alaskan experience with mountain views! Accommodations: 3 beds (1 Queen, 2 Twins), a full kitchen w/running water, modern Toyo heater and wood stove, a tidy outhouse, and a genuine Nordic Spa (sauna/coldplunge). Yurt also available for rent on-site, check out Harbinson Yurt to accomodate larger groups!

An ideal spot for birding or watching beach, bay and mountains beyond. The adorable 12'x16' DRY CABIN has a half loft with queen bed, and 8'x12' covered porch. It also features kitchenette with sink (& limited running cold water), induction 2-burner and fridge. An incinerating toilet is steps away in a paired outbuilding.

This spot is close enough to enjoy the shops and cuisine of Homer 15 mins away, or enjoy the solitude and grab a cocktail at The Homestead nearby. Four miles beyond us takes you to Eveline State Rec Area. The cabin is cozy- monitor heat or the warmth of late day sun through the southwest facing picture windows. A clean composting outhouse completes the rustic atmosphere.

The hand hewn log cabin was built in the late 1800's by Russian settlers and is located in the historic native/Russian settlement of Ninilchik. (An idyllic village that sits on the Cook Inlet, through which the lovely winding Ninilchik River runs.) 180 mile drive from anchorage and only 35 miles from famous Homer, Alaska on the Kachemak bay. You will have total privacy but if you need anything im a 5 minute walk down the road and always reachable by phone.

Beach is a 2 minute walk from home, cafes and grocery stores a 5 minute walk, hospital, art galleries, general stores all within a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive.
