Great getaway! Cozy cottage was bigger than unexpected, very clean and nestled up to the woods. Roz’s was a great host and very responsive. Starved Rock was beautiful, great place to explore.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Big Oak. Marnie and Brian were waiting for us in their Gator when we arrived and greeted us like old friends. As a mom of a leash reactive pittie mix, I reached out to Marnie and Brian before we booked to confirm that there would in fact be no other dogs around and if there was, they would be leashed. They were both very understanding, honest and responsive when I made these inquiries. The Cabin itself is so stocked its insane. Anything you think you might need, they provide it. Olive oil, salt, heater, dog towels, tampons, toaster oven, home made cookies, coffee. They just really want you to feel at home and you DO. They also have it stocked with chilling out activities... things like games, music, DVDs, a full bird-feeder to watch birds, a scavenger hunt. The land is really well taken care of and beautiful. We enjoyed hiking the trails and taking in the sights. Our dogs had the time of their lives. We cannot wait to go back.. We already booked!

My stay was perfect - the home was quaint, charming, and very comfortable. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The entire place was spotless / clean. The bed was comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet. Parking was handy, right outside of the home on the street. Michael responded quickly to my questions and made me feel at home. I'll be back again!

We enjoyed our stay so much!!! Beautiful home, so much space & the best location!!! The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, the bed was the most comfortable ever & the Jacuzzi in the master bedroom was lovely and very relaxing! The entire home was very spacious and spotless. We honestly didn't want to leave when it was time to go.

We were in town for a few days for some high school baseball games and to visit ISU and Bradley. Even though we were gone most of the day, it was SO nice coming back to Annabelle's in the evenings to unwind and relax. It's a beautiful cottage on the water that was clean, roomy, and full of amenities. Annabelle was friendly and accommodating even though nothing went wrong and everything in the cottage was better than described. The area was quiet and the view was INCREDIBLE. Even saw a bald and golden eagle outside in the early morning hours (and found binoculars too).

We loved our stay here. A beautiful house in a private location, in view of lovely sunsets. We loved the fenced in yard for our dog, and the chairs around the fire pit for sitting and reading a book. The house is so thoughtfully decorated and stocked. We will recommend it to our friendly and friends, and look forward to staying again! Very cute place!
