Location was perfect for as it was close to Combermere Abbey. It was also 1 hour drive from Manchester Airport. We had hired the two flats which were beside each other and it suited both families; it was almost as if we had the whole marina to ourselves. The pub on the other side of the canal was great and there was lovely 5min walk down to a Garden Centre for Breakfast. The flow of long barges through the canal was lovely.

Host was approachable via text/Whats app. Clean accomodation, well equipped kitchen and very peaceful surroundings. Felt very safe as well. Highly recommend. Will certainly book again when I visit Chester next time.

Absolute gem of a place to stay ... everything was amazing from start to finish. Our 5 nights went far too quickly so much more to explore! great location beautiful place and fantastic hosts!

The property was perfect for what we needed. We were spending Christmas with family in Chester and this cottage was just a 5 minute drive away. Moira had made the cottage very welcoming. As soon as we entered it felt like Christmas. The property was clean, spacious and cosy! It felt like a home away from home. Parking was great and the host was very contactable if needed. I would recommend and stay here again.

We had a great stay and Barbara was so supportive and helpful even over the bank holiday weekend. Whether we had any issues or just a "where is this" question, Barbara responded rapidly every time. We loved the hot tub and it's position in the garden, high up and overlooking the rolling hills across the locks. We loved lighting the fires of which we were supplied plenty of wood, kindling and matches for as well. The walks from the doorstep are wildly different, one direction is fields and lakes, the other has a viaduct and the adjacent walk over the locks is into those rolling fields. We went to Delamere Forest which is approx 20 minutes away and would definitely go back there. Lots to explore and do and shops in Weaverham itself, and a pub just off the main road. We enjoyed our stay here and had a relaxing weekend whilst getting out and about, thanks for having us!!!

Perfect stay for our business trip working on the nearby Ice Cream Farm and we had lovely hosts which is an added bonus! Gorgeous place, really stylish and we felt very at home. Thank you again!

Staying at Joan’s place was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, she went above and beyond to make me feel completely at home. She gave me the freedom to cook my own meals, which made the stay even more comfortable and personal. Joan is a wonderful host—kind, thoughtful, and incredibly interesting to talk to. As an avid reader and passionate gardener, she brings so much warmth and depth to every conversation, no matter the topic. If you’re looking for a welcoming, cozy, and enriching stay, I can’t recommend Joan enough! A little secret not advertised enough is the canal and walk right behind this place.

Lovely home from home experience with private parking right in the heart of the city. We had a fabulous 3 nights in this well appointed very comfortable home.

Great place. Near to everything we needed to get to. Super friendly service. The only issue is the track that you need to use to get to the property.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location. You will have the best of both works here. We travelled to big cities every day with the excellent train service which was literally steps away. We returned to the peaceful countryside and a a nice comfy bed at the end of the day. We will definitely book this place again!

Lovely and comfortable apartment, home from home, fully equipped with all amenities. The instructions provided by email were a big help, however, Suggestion: it would be invaluable to have a hard copy in the apartment too. It's only a short walk to the city, a map providing the quickest route from the apartment to the city especially for visitors not familiar with the area would also be useful.. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and making our trip to Chester so enjoyable.

la casa di Jonathan è esattamente come descritta nell'annuncio. Ben tenuta, ha grandi spazi dove appoggiare le proprie cose e un comodo e capiente armadio in camera. La cucina ha le stoviglie necessarie (bellissimi a mio gusto i piatti!) ed è disponile tè, zucchero e qualche altro condimento che ti aiuta appena arrivato, prima di fare la spesa. . . la casa è silenziosa, il letto comodo e la posizione sul canale molto caratteristica. Zona tranquilla, a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro e da tutti i principali negozi.

Very nice apartment; comfortable, quiet and appears to be well maintained. For us, the provision of a parking space was crucial to our choice: especially in a town like Chester which has many narrow roads where parking can be problematic. Easy check-in due to the very good communications from the Host. Several (independent) fast food places and mini-supermarkets are within easy walking distance, so supplies were never an issue. Also within easy walking distance were the City Walls, and the other attractions that Chester has to offer. So, all in all, a successful trip for us.

Lovely apartment, bur further outbof the town centre than expected but still a walkable distance. Would stay again.

We had a lovely Easter weekend at Leigh's place. Tom and Rachael, who manage the flat, were easy to get in touch with and extremely helpful. We had a small hiccup on check-in with a door code which didn't work, but they rapidly helped us resolve the issue. Very convenient to have parking in the basement. Great kitchen/lounge area for cooking and relaxing. Thanks for having us to stay!

Quiet accommodation even though in a central location. The rooms were clean and had everything needed for a few days. Secure parking is a bonus as is secure access to the accommodation. Will definitely have this Airbnb top of the list for our next visit to family in Chester. James was very helpful in sending over screenshots of security controls - after a long car journey this was particularly helpful. Thank you James.
