Great place to stay. Stayed at Pod 3, amazing view of the river, arrived very late and Catherine had the hot tub and pod all warmed up for our late arrival. Although the pod doesn’t get hot as such, hot water bottles were provided and a big fire pit was readily available. Failing that, a hot shower or a dip in the hot tub . Fantastic two nights away, will definitely be coming back!

The lodge was absolutely stunning and exactly what we wanted. Upon arrival all the essentials were provided like bread, milk and a delicious cake along. The lodge was very clean and all towels were provided, including the towels for the hot tub. The views from the lodge looking out from the bedrooms and hot tub were stunning and certainly helped us all to relax. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you need - nothing was missing. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable week - I couldn’t recommend it enough if you want peace and quiet and stunning views.

It was a really good stay for my girlfriend’s birthday. She was very helpful. I’d never used air bnb before. And arranged this last minute.

Went on a couples trip with 8 people to Julia’s gorgeous place. Was everything and more we could’ve hoped for. The pictures do not do the view justice!!! Very clean and well equipped, was so memorable.

My partner and I were looking for a quiet one night stay in the area and we found this glamping cabin which was perfect for what we wanted. The host reached out with clear instructions and made himself available, but the site is easy to find and very clearly set up for guests to set themselves up. The set up is perfect, it seems like he must have explored a handful of similar sites and picked the best elements of them as the amenities are more than comfortable, hot running water, small but useful kitchenette, plates and cutlery, hot tub, firepit, ambient lights and generally a peaceful and beautiful site. We are regularly in Lancashire visiting family and this site is a nice overnight stay a short drive away that we'll hopefully be back to again.

Just got home after an amazing 4 days at this beautiful property! Stunning inside but then wow, when you come to the decked area, had to pinch myself everyday! Watched deer feeding when having early morning brew and the views continue to be breathtaking to sunset. Very good food and service at site pub but for fellow seafood lovers, highly recommend Hooked restaurant, ellerthwaite square, short car journey or taxi ride away. Walkable to Bowness on Windermere (a good hour with 4 legged sniffy friends) and Cockshott point is a must see. We were very lucky with weather, plus were the only occupants on the lakeside facing lodges so tranquil and private. Did not want to leave so consoled myself by rebooking for next year! Thanks Jo and Paddy and look forward to coming back!

Great lodge situated right at the top of the site, within 2 minutes of a small walk with panoramic views of the valleys. Bedding was super soft & so were the towels, comfy bed, great sleep. Beautiful surroundings to wake up to and sit outdoors with a coffee listening to the birds. Dog friendly! Comfortable sofa! Lots of utensils and plates.

After reading previous reviews, we came to Herdy Lodge with high expectations and I must say even these were exceeded massively! The location is beautiful, both the farm itself and the surrounding area. The lodge was everything we could want, spacious, modern and spotlessly clean. Hats off to Alison and Andrew, they really were fantastic hosts. From fresh farm eggs and goodies on arrival to bring super accommodating with any and all requests. I cannot rate them highly enough. Thank you for the most wonderful stay we would love to return when the weather is more on our side!

Amazing place to stay, we took 3 of our dogs and our son. Hot tub, amazing children’s play area, trampoline, swings, seesaw, 20+ go carts with track, play obstacle course, climbing frame, slide, basketball hoops and football nets. The pictures on the advert are outdated and don’t show the go cart track. A brilliant field specifically for walking the dogs, not fully secure due to gaps under the gate but great for dogs who will ignore sheep. Lovely pod with everything we could have needed, hot tub lovely and warm, amazing views. Picnic bench and parking space. Lots of towels available, comfy bed and pillows. Complimentary bottle of Prosecco, eggs and biscuits. Very happy with our stay! We went to The bridge end inn for tea, 2 nights in a row!! The food was absolutely fantastic, well priced but quality fresh cooked food. Booking is a must as they were very busy.

Helen kindly upgraded us to their larger accommodation as it was empty and we were cycling the C2C and it had been a cold and drizzly day so she took pity on us! Helen was very helpful letting us know the best places to pick up food en route and even offered to pick up some heavy stuff for us during her shop. Thank you Helen for being so thoughtful!

Caravan was immaculate and had everything you needed. Was really homely and cosy. Nice short walk into town which had lovely dog friendly places to eat and drink. The hill going up to the caravan was very slippy as it had been raining, i had slipped on wet moss going out one morning so just to warn people to be mindful of this. Would definately return as we had a lovely stay.

Rob, I can’t thank you more mate the best experience I’ve had in a lifetime such a amazing place to stay, such a hidden gem the price needs to be doubled then doubled again for the value of this beauty. Perfect place if you want to spend few days in nature.

A lovely little cabin! Felt extremely welcomed and really enjoyed the experience of being on a working farm. Just remember that you need £1 coins for the showers. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful little hut, exactly what we expected. Very peaceful and serene providing the perfect base camp for us to explore the Lake District for a couple days. Felt really safe and all the amenities were provided as described!

The cabin was absolutely spotless! Had everything we needed for a few days and with such a beautiful view. The hosts went above and beyond and were great with communication. I would definitely recommend!

Yanxia is an excellent host she gave us some great recommendations and tips to get around. The guidebook was super helpful. Accommodation was clean and tidy, the welcome basket was very much appreciated. It felt very cosy and private surrounded by beautiful views. Location was great and within walking distance of the local village. Also there were lots of things to do only a short drive away. checking in and out was very straight forward. would definitely visit again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We had an amazing stay at Marilyn’s place in Eskdalemuir. We drove up from London to explore the Esk Valley and visit the Samye Ling Tibetan monastery, and this spot was the perfect location. The cottage was clean, spacious, and incredibly pretty—an absolute haven of peace and tranquility. Being so close to Samye Ling made it even more special. Marilyn was a wonderful host—warm, welcoming, kind & helpful energy. Vin and John (our lovely neighbor) were equally kind and made us feel right at home. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. A hidden gem tucked away in peaceful surroundings – The Burrow was the perfect escape. Surrounded by beautiful, tranquil scenery, it had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The decor was gorgeous, with thoughtful finishing touches that made it feel extra special. The facilities were great and we had everything we needed. We especially loved stargazing from the hot tub – a real highlight of our stay. It was the ideal base for scenic walks and exploring the local area and the Lake District. Kate was a fantastic, friendly host who made sure we had everything we needed. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Burrow and we will definitely be back! Thank you Kate.
