Really enjoyed Marty’s private backyard walk way. Very private space for a bonfire and has a grill and furnitures (chairs and benches) in front of a river. Best spot to hangout if you’re just trying to enjoy some outdoor time.

My wife and I loved the place. The wooded surroundings in the backyard with the stream running through or breathtaking. We would see on average anywhere from 15 to 20 deer every day. The house was even better than what the picture show. I never had to worry about being able to reach the owner. She was always accommodating and even offered us the opportunity to stay longer knowing that we were doing a longer-term, but we had already made arrangements to go somewhere else and couldn’t get out of it or we would’ve taken it.

Nice clean home, close to the state parks, and perfect for a weekend trip from Chicago. The hosts were very thoughtful and welcoming.

Magical place!!! Beautiful community! We just loved staying in the River here with our dog! Rhiannon was the best hostess. This place is stocked to the nines with linens dishes, bowls, pots, pans. You name it! We were able to enjoy the river and. The park is right next door so it was perfect walking my dog! The perennial blooms were making a show when we were here so again. Just a magical place! We will be back for sure. Thank you so much to the Ford's for doing it right!!!!

Very comfortable place. Warm and cosy in some really cold weather. Super easy getting in and dealing with the owner. We also all loved Manteno. Its a great place full of lovely people. Couldn't recommend Manteno and this house more.

Sanjay and Aparna were amazing and so was the room. You can tell just from the unpacking-phase of your visit that this location was well thought out and planned. They provide as much as they can in the unit accordingly before you arrive to make sure you are comfortable and set. You feel very safe in the unit itself and in the area you will be residing in temporarily. Not to mention the beautiful lake right outside your door! 10/10, 100% would visit again

The house was clean, comfortable & everything worked as needed. The location was very convenient for us & the neighborhood was quiet.

I love the place me and family felt right at home peaceful neighborhood stores near by very comfortable home only problem I had was the water smelling like eggs other then that everything was good I would love to rent again,

We come from Chicago a couple times a year to hike at Starved Rock, Matthiesen, etc, so we thought we would try staying for a full weekend. This place was the perfect fit. It was pet friendly, so our dog could come along, and it had great amenities at the resort. The staff was very responsive and easy to communicate with.
