Swallow Cottage, Auldgirth - north of Dumfries.

Swallow Cottage was lovingly converted by Steve and Sarah from McMurdoston's old granary in 2014 and provides a wonderfully peaceful place to stay while exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is only 20 minutes drive from a 24-hour supermarket, a cinema and numerous eateries, but once you get here you'll feel as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere. We live just across the yard if you need us and we'll do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and quietly memorable.

Durhamhill Coach House, llamas & games room/cinema

Stay in the lap of luxury, with panoramic views to the hills & have fun in any weather. Huge dining table for up to 16 & blazing woodburners. Games room for tournaments converts to cosy cinema for wine, woodburner & popcorn. Llama walk, egg collecting & motorbike sidecar trips on request. Hills, lochs & woodland rambles. Castles & stunning coastline, abundant wildlife & outdoor activities. Sleeps 12 easily & can have 4 extra people (see later). Max 16 guests. 6 bedrooms, 6 bath/shower rooms.

Two bedroom house is situated on the edge of a very small village with beautiful open views across country side .There is a play park for children . This is an excellent base for outdoor enthusiasts , close to mountain bike tracks and hill walks, it is on part of National cycle route 7 . The beaches are 25 minute drive away and only 10 minute drive to main town of Dumfries. The property is situated on bus route . There is storage for bikes . The house is next door to the owners property.

The old part of the house was originally a fisherman’s cottage built in the 1700’s, with its original beams, and the open plan modern extension gives a stunning panoramic view of the river, the birdlife and the landscape beyond. It makes an ideal base for exploring beautiful Dumfries & Galloway.

Kirkland Cottage

Kirkland Cottage is completely self-contained and is attached to our main house in an enclosed, secluded and large garden. Although only two miles from Dumfries Town Centre it is in a quiet, rural location. There is ample parking beside the cottage and a lockable room for storage of bicycles and other leisure equipment. The cottage provides a great base from which to enjoy the many cultural and outdoor activities available in the immediate locality.

Set within 30 acres of beautiful pastoral farmland this quirky conversion is a peaceful rural retreat, but is ideally located for all that the region has to offer.
