We had a late flight in but Björn was flexible with us checking in later. It was easy to find and Bjorn met us and showed us the place which was warmed and lit ready. So cosy and homely that the space really became a haven after our days adventuring. The place is so peaceful and the horses are amazing. You can see Reykjavik across the water but you feel very much in the country even though it's a short drive away. We found it to be a great location to explore in all directions so after doing the golden circle we also ventured south along the coast and quite a way inland North. Really loved our stay and Björn was very responsive when we needed a torch to explore a lava cave! The cabin is clean, homely and colourful and we absolutely loved our stay!

What an absolutely wonderful Airbnb experience. The apartment was beautiful and super-clean, and the view was stunning! We loved looking out the window at the ocean in the evenings, and we took a lovely walk along the seafront one morning. We took day trips to the Golden Circle and the Snaefellsnes peninsula, and we were an easy drive from Reykjavik. Best of all, Salvor Lilja and her husband were amazing hosts. We enjoyed a sunset soak in the hot tub, and they very kindly provided a selection of beverages and Icelandic treats. They also very thoughtfully left the apartment stocked with amenities like coffee, tea, milk, beer, wine and chocolates. We would highly recommend to anyone!

The stay at the Aurora Retreat was fabulous. The modern summer house is well equipped with breathtaking view and is located less than an hour drive from Reykjavík which was convenient. Definitely recommended!

Sigrún is a great host: proactive, responsive and true. The place is beautiful, tastefully decorated and well maintained. We chose this as an initial base for 3 nights before spending just 1 night in 4 other properties and we weren’t disappointed. It was a good starting point: in reach of Snaefellsnes, the Reykjanes Peninsula and ‘The Golden Circle’. My two grown up sons and I felt at home here.

this place is truly a hidden gem. Definitely off the neaten path and not much around that's close food wise, but 1000% worth the extra miles to stay somewhere secluded like this with the magnificent views out the massive windows in the living room and kitchen. it is on the homeowners property, but once inside you feel like you are all by yourself out there. 2 bed, 2 bath and was there by myself but felt very spacious. the interior feels new and is updated with great shower and comfortable beds and couches. would highly recommend to anyone looking for great views and seclusion.

This home was absolutely perfect! We wanted something that was away from the hustle bustle of life but driveable to local sites. We were able to do days trips to amazing locations but then rest in the home with a wonderful hot tub with stellar views. We were even able to see the auroras while steaming in the hot tub! The hosts were beyond helpful and we can't thank them enough for communicating so well and for being so willing to help. We were offered super early check-in due to our early flight. And thanks to them we were able to change our reservations on the spot as we made a huge mistake on our end!

Checkin was a breeze and Alfa was extremely helpful throughout our entire stay. Truly a beautiful home with everything you need, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Views from the home are absolutely stunning and the interior is very warm and welcoming. My family and I enjoyed our stay and would absolutely love to visit again.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. So cosy and peaceful in the middle of a farm with Icelandic horses, surrounded by snowcapped mountains and on the seashore. It had everything we could ever wish for for our first trip to Iceland, including no light pollution allowing us to experience a fantastic Aurora Borealis show every night there! The cottage had everything we needed for the 2 of us and our 4 year-old daughter. It was also surprisingly super warm inside despite the freezing wind outside. We also very much enjoyed soaking in all the views in the hot tub in the evenings. We highly recommend a stay there!

We had a great time at the cabin! Actually, one of the highlights was our host Ylfa, who was always very helpful, provided a lot of very detailed information up front and reacted very quickly to all remaining questions we had - the communication was really a pleasure to us and on a level I have not experienced on Airbnb before. About the cabin: Our kids (3 and 6 years old) very much liked what they referred to as "the play cave", which is the upstairs sleeping loft. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary things needed, far exceeding what would be minimal kitchen setup. Another highlight to us was the hot tub, which we used almost every day (despite wind and a bit of rain outside). The open view towards the west is very suitable to search for Northern Lights in the dark or just watch the stars. We mainly used the cabin as our homebase to different day tours around in western Iceland. In total, we really had a great time!
