My extended family and I had a wonderful stay at the Flying Squirrel Lodge! The property is meticulously maintained, with beautiful handcrafted furniture, high-end finishes, and thoughtful details. We appreciated the well-furnished kitchen, as we cooked most of our meals. And the kids loved the game room downstairs. The bathrooms are spacious and clean, and have everything one might need (obviously besides personal items), plus some unexpected extras, like a towel warmer. The pellet stove was a nice touch, and kept us toasty warm. Lastly, the jukebox provided great tunes.

The home was beautiful and clean. It was a short drive to town for supplies and to the lake for some fresh air. Our family loved the space to spread out for sleeping. Beds and bedding were so comfortable and the wooded setting was dark and peaceful, all of which made for restful sleep. The kids loved the game space in the basement- playing ping pong, air hockey, and on the PSII. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped for making family meals and the large dining table allowed for the 10 of us to eat together. All of this, plus we were able to enjoy all of this with our 2 dogs. Ellen was responsive to a couple of questions and needs, as well as understanding when an item was accidentally broken. The only concern was some additional rules that were not on the original listing, but were messaged a few weeks before our reservation.

I went for a weekend getaway, and this place did not disappoint. It's a beautiful, private spot—nice and cozy, with stunning views all around. The host provided clear directions before arrival, making check-in smooth and stress-free. The house rules were straightforward and reasonable, and communication from the host was outstanding—thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely caring. It was clear that a lot of time and attention went into every detail of the space, which made our stay even more special. We had a wonderful time, and I’ll definitely be recommending this place to others. Looking forward to coming back!

What a pleasurable stay for our extended family. The house was meticulous and beautiful. This was not a cheap flip. This home was done with care for detail. The view was absolutely magnificent, and what a treat to see elk and deer come to the pasture for the children to see. Everyone in our family said how much they loved the stay. It was well worth the 2 1/2 hr drive!

We stayed there several times, the last time for our daughter celebrations. We had a great breakfast at Kathy's dinner. Visited several entertainment places and stores. Went fishing and had a great campfire with smores. Can't ask for more. Lots of great games to play and books to read. find something new each time.

Can’t say enough good things about our stay at the Drowsy Beaver Cabin! Stacy, our host, was so helpful in all of her communications and very responsive. She was so thoughtful that she even left really good gluten-free snacks after asking if any of us has food allergies. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous with really great indoor and outdoor spaces that have stunning views and a warm, comfortable feel. There were thoughtful touches throughout, such as soft throw blankets to snuggle up with in the living room, a stock of wood for the fireplace and fire pit with fire starter, a jar with cotton balls and qtips the bathroom, a stock of k-cups and creamer, maps from the two big state parks nearby, flyers from recommended stores and so much more. We walked in and felt instantly cozy and at home. It was so quiet and peaceful with beautiful views of the lake. We will absolutely be going back for more stays at the Drowsy Beaver. This place fit perfectly for us over a busy weekend attending the PIAA Championship. Great kitchen, great bedrooms, useful utilities and modern amenities. The hosts were proactive and helpful. Highly recommend!

Really liked the place. The upstairs bedroom is a bit of a challenge to not hit your head however. All was good. I may have lost some ear buds there.

Great quiet place tucked away in the woods. Very private. Awesome place to unwind for a few days. The hot tub was a plus. Extremely clean.
